Even if he pulls in Warren supporters, it is still less than 50%. I foresee Biden taking the nomination in a brokered convention. Funny that Sanders wanted a brokered convention in 2016 when he had 43% of the delegates, but now that is a bad idea when he will have the most votes without a majority. If Bernie thinks thinks he will get a single republican vote in a general election, he is a fool.

A bitter Bloomberg v Bernie contest would be the worst possible outcome for everyone. If Sanders wins, the GOP will devote an entire conference to framing him as 'Comrade Bernie', the communist. On the other hand, if Bloomberg wins, a substantial number of berners will bolt no matter how enthusiastically Sanders may back him. Having spent four years, campaigning against 'the billionaire class', it would be a tough sell. On top of that, the GOP will frame Mike as 'Mr. Wall Street', and take that message straight to the midwest. Women will stay at home and African Americans won't be lining up in record numbers, to say the least. It would not end well.

I take Mike at his word. He will 'everything he can to defeat trump'.

The line of attack I would use is 'Who are the real socialists' - and hammer home the subsidies and tax breaks the federal government has given to trump, the fossil fuel industry, giant corporations, and all the rest. Saturation ads have a chance - and there is plenty of material to work with.

Opinions and magic don't matter in politics. It's about hard reality, and allowing our democracy to be permanently handed over to dictators because you "hoped" it wouldn't happen? Not a very good idea.

Obama had a great campaign operation and no baggage from accepting help from a foreign nation. Obama was a first tier candidate with impeccable credentials and the best campaigning skills since FDR, not to mention a world class supportive operation.

Bernie has baggage that is unique to his position, as all candidates do. Democrats will unite behind the eventual candidate.

Bernie IS going to win the popular vote and delegate count going into the convention.

If the party holds to that and gives him the nomination, the Rs will JOYOUSLY roll into a socialism campaign that almost assuredly will end up in a disastrous blowout in November that will be the functional end of American democracy.

The only way he is not our nominee will be through a delegate battle at the convention, and if that occurs, regardless of who get the nomination, you are going to a sizeable portion of his supporters who don't show up in November.

We are pretty much fucked ...
