I ask EVERYONE to recall Phil Parlock when assessing this.

(18,770 posts)I'm sorry for reading that wrong.
Yes, I bring up Parlock because this is coming from an (insurgent) campaign. Let's get the facts before immediately attacking fellow Democrats (Sanders' supporters are, by and large, our fellow Democrats - that gets lost in all of this, sometimes ).

(11,607 posts)I'm not even a Sanders supporter this time around, but it bothers me that every time someone does something out of line, people automatically assume it's Sanders supporters. How is that different from Trump assuming it must be a Muslim when a bomb goes off in NYC? Let's find out what happened and if it was done by people associated with Bernie's campaign, he needs to do something about it.

(2,949 posts)"Sure would be great if, no matter who, we would stop with the paranoia and simply vote for who we like and support each other. We are all Dems so remember that devisivness within our ranks will lose the election to Trump as quickly as you can shout "Welcome back DT". If you truly care about the future of this country then act like it. Dems are not our enemy, that's DT, for goodness sake."

(10,842 posts)this wouldn't be a credibility problem. Everyone would shrug and consider it typical ratf**king from the outside.
However, the behavior of some over-the-top supporters and the language of Senator Sanders senior staff mean the red flags are still up and flapping wildly.
Think about it.

(10,842 posts)How about Brianna Gray? These are senior staff members who feel perfectly comfortable with pushing all matter of garbage. Ms Gray was called up just this last week for lying. Or Weaver, for that matter who is still in the mix after his disgraceful behavior in 2016.
These are senior staff people, not a bunch of amorphous, unnamed characters acting on their own misguided purposes. They work directly with the Senator from Vermont. So, if Sanders and his campaign are unfairly accused, the Senator might think about cleaning his own house.
Just saying.

(10,842 posts)These are people representing Bernie Sanders at the highest level, running his digital campaign and making appearances while they lie their faces off. These are people the Senator from Vermont personally chose to run the campaign on his behalf.

(16,878 posts)Trust me, living in the blue dot in a sea of red in TN, I agree with that completely. My point of surprise, and I guess I should have been more clear, was that he's taking those votes that seriously that he's opening up offices in places some campaigns haven't even thought about.

(1,773 posts)It couldn't possibly have anything to do with his long, well-documented history of racism, sexism and classism, right? No, of course not. If not for Bernie and his Bolshevik brethren, I'm sure people, especially POC and women, would be just lining up outside every Bloomberg campaign office from coast-to-coast to slip love notes under the door thanking him for being such a selfless humanist and healer all these decades.
