So most people will look at them rather than ignore them as they might have. I know I've never looked at anyone else's and yet I'm interested in these. Same with Dotard's.

I have not looked at any of the Clintons' returns - one thing, I know someone will do it for me (extreme right wingers) and second, they never made a big deal about NOT releasing them.

Btw, don't hold your breath that he will. April 15 is the date of the "town hall" Fox is holding for Sanders. So he's undoubtedly pushing people to remember that particular date for that reason. And he'll say something else to distract the press from this issue. Trump's not the only one who can use distraction.

My guess all along has been that he'll repeat 2016 and not release until after he's out of the race and the issue of duty to America's voters becomes moot. He doesn't want people to see them and it worked before, so why not?

Fri Apr 5, 2019, 12:56 AM
Apr 2019
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Tuesday night that he still does not consider himself a Democrat despite taking part in a Democratic National Committee (DNC) unity tour with the party's new chairman, Tom Perez.

"No, I'm an Independent," Sanders said when asked by MSNBC's Chris Hayes whether he now identifies as a Democrat.

"If the Democratic Party is going to succeed — and I want to see it succeed — it's gonna have to open its door to independents," he continued. "There are probably more independents in this country than Democrats or Republicans. It's got to open its doors to working people and to young people, create a grassroots party. That's what we need."

*By not amended I mean that they're not single filed if he obviously filed jointly the first time around, so that he isn't hiding the reason why he didn't disclose his tax returns in 2016 (or even five weeks ago) in his wife's now singly filed tax returns.

20. Bernie mentioned April 15 to CNN today, in another puzzling statement:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/04/politics/bernie-sanders-tax-returns/index.html

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders sidestepped questions Thursday about when he will release his tax returns, with the Vermont independent hinting he could fulfill his six-week old pledge to make public 10 years of tax returns on April 15 -- Tax Day.

Yet, as quickly as Sanders suggested that, he appeared to backtrack and wouldn't commit that he would release them then.

"Do you know what April 15th is? It's Tax Day," Sanders told CNN on Capitol Hill when asked if there was an issue to releasing his taxes. "So, I think we want to make sure we have all of them together and as I said, they will be released soon."

When asked if that meant he would not necessarily release his tax returns on April 15, Sanders responded, "That's it. Thank you very much."

An aide then stepped in front of CNN and said, "he answered your question" and referred CNN to follow up with a Sanders' spokesperson.

That exchange followed a news conference earlier Thursday on a the House passing a Yemen War Powers Resolution earlier. When asked about the tax returns at that news conference, Sanders declined to answer.

"Today let's worry about the starving children in Yemen," he said, before departing the room.

“He never SAID he’d release on April 15, just that it was tax day! He said they’d be released very shortly, plus he had a town hall where he was able to convince some Fox viewers to vote for him that day! By the way, what’s Joe been up to?”

If that date comes and goes, should we call him out for not releasing them. He actually didn't say he'd do it by then, though. Probably it would be a good idea not to lock him into a date, because what if he decides not to release them by then?

I think it would be better to let Senator Sanders speak for himself, and let his words tell the story, not yours.
