SurveyUSA poll: Michael Bloomberg surges to 2nd place among California voters ahead of Super Tuesday

KABC

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- With Super Tuesday just two weeks away, an exclusive Eyewitness News poll conducted by SurveyUSA shows that Michael Bloomberg has surged into second place among California voters.

The survey's results were released Tuesday morning, just hours after the former New York City mayor qualified for his first Democratic presidential debate.

Sen. Bernie Sanders still leads with 25 percent, but Bloomberg is only 4 percentage points behind.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is in third place, according to the survey, followed closely by former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg. Candidates in the single digits include Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Amy Klobuchar and businessman Tom Steyer.

Bernie Sanders, 25%
Mike Bloomberg, 21%
Joe Biden, 15%
Pete Buttigieg, 12%
Elizabeth Warren, 9%
Amy Klobuchar, 6%

Choice, health care, fixing college debt, health care, gun registration, climate change and he may win the nomination. Sanders is an Independent too.

...she never ran against a Dem (Bloomberg did, 3x), governed as a Republican (albeit a moderate one), endorsed and provided major support for national Republican candidates. "Longer" doesn't matter, if no "damage" was done.

candidate doesn't make them less of a Democrat...consider that Warren voted for Reagan during the aids crisis... I would choose Warren if she could win a primary or a general but she can't. Sander's people ruined her campaign. And after how she was treated, I would not count on her voters moving towards Sanders. As for Sanders he runs as a Democrat and then switches back after he wins to independent...so he isn't any sort of Democrat...even though he could be.

which seemed to indicate that who was 'more' of a Dem mattered to you. But I actually agree with you, it is not something I care about.

As for how many Warren voters will move to Sanders, morningconsult says that, currently, 38% of Warren supporters consider Sanders to be their second choice, leading the pack, ahead of 16% who would go to Klobuchar, and 14% who would go to Biden or Buttigieg (each).

ultimately, but I know several folks who plan to vote for Bloomberg in the primaries here in California, and for Bernie in the General if he is our nominee. They tell me that many of their relatives/friends plan on voting for Bloomberg. As I mentioned here last week, many told me that while they're not particularly in love with Bloomberg, they love the way that he fights back against tRump and embarrasses him via his political ads. Here in California, I've seen a steady diet of Bloomberg ads disparaging tRump, and I must admit that I LOVE those anti fat ass ads, because they take on tRump, something that I wish our side would do more of. I wish Biden would have went after tRump who disparaged he/his son Hunter. Talk more about tRump's crooked ass kids grifting and stealing, call them out for their nepotism. But he didn't.

Shocking to see him with a 5 point lead after they had him down by 10 last month when all other polls had him ahead by 5 to 15 points.
