Assume you are facing a long walk home down an oozing asphalt road on a blistering July day.

For whatever reason, you've lost your shoes and socks. But, you'e in luck. A Good Samaritan sees your plight and says he has an extra couple of pairs of shoes in his nearby car and you are welcome to take either pair.

Now, assume that, like me you wear a size 10 D. The first pair offered to you is size 7 A. No way can you get them on your gunboats.

The second pair is a size 10 D and would fit you perfectly, but they are bright red Converse high-tops and aren't anything like what you'd prefer. "Do you happen to have a pair of black or white Nikes in a regular height walking shoe, size 10 D?" you inquire. "Nope, sorry" the Samaritan answers. "No socks?" you ask and get the same answer.

So, here's your decision: do you squeeze your toes into the 7's, lash the laces around your ankles and try to tiptoe home; OR, do you lace up the 10's and walk home in comfort; OR, do you pass on both pairs of shoes and hot foot it all the way home, arriving with blistered asphalt-coated feet?

For those who don't already see where I'm going, the above situation may be similar to your primary decision. The totally unfit size 7's are the totally unfit Trump; the "comfy but not exactly what I'd prefer" 10's may be the Democratic nominee; and, choosing to harm yourself by bare-footin' it is, obviously, getting pissed off and not voting.

As for me, I'm just grateful I get to wear the 10's.

To Hell with the shoes. I'm hopping into the car. I'd say, "WTF kind of Good Samaritan are you? Let's go."

What happened to the owners of those shoes?

Were they from his last two victims?

Someone riding around with extra shoes in their car in different sizes, looking for barefoot people.... I don't know.

And what if you take the size 10 shoes and he gives you a hug for good luck, but hangs on a little longer than you are comfortable with?

Another Good Samaritan drives by, sees that, and then dredges up other barefoot pedestrians who have been creeped out by the same Good Samaritan...
