I've suspected, with varying degrees of confidence, that Biden's lead was largely illusory. Influential people decided early on he would be the candidate to beat and that became the narrative. Now that the rubber has hit the road and Biden actually has to sing for his supper, things are going sideways.

That's the way it appears, at any rate. Like you said, it is too early to tell. Maybe I'm full of shit and Joe will break out next week.
