Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWhat is Bloomberg's end game?
Does he really want to be President, is he shooting for a cabinet post, or is he just trying to get under trump's skin? Personally, I think he's trying to drive trump batty and succeeding. And I dont really approve of another billionaire trying to buy his way into the White House, I will still vote for him if he somehow wins the nomination, unlikely as it may be. But in the meantime, I hope his tweets, etc. drive cheetolini over the edge

(16,616 posts)At first I didn't believe Bloomberg was running to win, but rather out of sincere patriotism and disdain for Trump, recognizing that he had sociological and psychological advantages over Trump that no other candidate has. But so much has changed so quickly. He's spending so much money so early that I've had to adjust my opinions about his objective.
I'm not sure he foresaw what has happened in Iowa and New Hampshire.
It's possible his end game has evolved with changing events; changing patterns in his spending suggest he sees an opportunity that may not have existed even two weeks ago.
But he will do anything to get Trump out of office no matter who emerges in the lead, of that I'm certain.
Great questions you ask.

Failing a win, I think he plans to troll Filthy Donnie until the orange head explodes.

(301 posts)Not sure what his end-game is.
But in his near-game he has achieved this:
1. Further fragmented the moderate vote.
2. Taken away support we needed for Joe.
3. Taken away support needed for Klobuchar to take over from Joe.
4. Further alienated the left and empowered the Bernie bros.
We don't need a Republican Billionairre leading our party.
If Joe can't make it thru this, then we have Klobuchar and Warren too who deserve the nomination far ahead of Bloomburg.

I'm okay with seeing how it all shakes out in the end and will vote for whomever is on top at the end of the day.
