Nevada journalist Jon Ralston on MSNBC now talking about the Culinary Union apparently trying to

stop Bernie in Nevada.

But Ralston isn't sure if the union will endorse any of his rivals -- they didn't endorse n 2016 -- or whether the union will decide to support Biden or Buttigieg.

Editing to add what Ralston tweeted an hour ago:

On the evening he emerges with momentum from NH, Bernie is nuked in Nevada by Culinary with flyers in Spanish and English at union properties and direct communication to its 60,000 members via text and email.

A ratcheting up of the campaign targeting him. This is something.

Megan Messerly thread Ralston is tweeting about starts here:

NEW: In a new flyer, @Culinary226 warns members that @BernieSanders would "end" their much-loved union health care. The union has not announced whether it will endorse, but the flyer appears to be part of a coordinated campaign ahead of the caucus.

Just got confirmation from a Culinary Union spokeswoman that the flyer is also going out to members tonight via text and email.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

...then they're full of crap and those union members deserve better. Also, Bernie is arguably the most pro-union candidate to ever run in a Democratic primary outside of FDR.

Also, let them read the full text of the M4A bill, which would provide comprehensive health insurance to everyone (including union members) without deductibles or copayments. Ask them how that compares to their current health insurance plan. Full text of the bill:

Let’s say M4A is actually enacted by Sanders.

Then 4 years from now, another Trump is elected. And Medicare is cut.

Now the union gave up its bargained for great healthcare (a sure thing) for much worse care.

You can’t expect union members to take the risk.

Bernie is handily the most pro-union and pro-worker candidate in the field. And that talking point about hurting union healthcare is nonsense.

In fact it’s the opposite. When workers rely on businesses for healthcare that is another threat that management can use against them during strikes.

But union leaders need to play politics, which is why they sometimes make moves like this one, criticizing the candidate whose policies would help their workers the most.

primary today, I would vote for:
