Sanders looks VERY happy now giving his closing speech!

And I mean REALLY happy.

He's getting such a big cheer he's having trouble talking over the crowd exuberance!

The crowd loves him.

Joe Biden

Lot of people want to deny it, but it is true.

And I'm glad that he won, because even though I don't want him to win the nomination I don't want to see him pushed out early.

But I'm a little annoyed that he started his speech before Pete was done. That was tacky, IMO.

Sanders was not, though he continues to insist he was.

What's more tacky - claiming a win early in the process that really was a win or claiming a second-place finish as a win?

Pete had unofficial and internal numbers to draw from, so at least his claim had some basis. Sanders's claim that he won is just disingenuous.

Perhaps that's why the TV cut away to Bernie. Maybe there was a schedule?

Beats me.

7. I don't think so

I think Bernie was waiting to speak until the race was called.

It wasn't Bernie's fault that they cut away to call the race, but starting his speech before Pete was done speaking (and forcing the networks to cut away a second time) was a bit of a faux pas, IMO. He and Hillary didn't do that to each other, to the best of my recollection.

4. Why does he keep saying
Wed Feb 12, 2020, 12:12 AM
Feb 2020

that he won in Iowa? Yes, in a convoluted way, he had more people in the caucus in the first round (I think that's his claim for winning in Iowa), but Pete has more delegates from Iowa and is leading in total delegates tonight.

I hate that Bernie is twisting the truth, just to avoid saying that he came in second in Iowa.

so I could actually decide if I wanted to support Sanders again and to see about the others before I made a choice. The noise in here is just too much, at least for me, to think with a clear mind.

I wanted to vote for a progressive woman. I had a few problems with Sanders before but supported him.

I am going to support him again, warts and all, he speaks for what we the people need so badly. He will never get most of it done but he can start the swing the other way and fix the horrible things that Trump has done here and abroad. His message is the message I would have if I were in his position.

All this, "he can't win", well he is doing pretty well now and has momentum and backing. It is early but with the group running we can certainly pick who stands for what we want and have a good candidate no matter who it is. He can't win, well he looks pretty able to me and to a lot of people.

Amy K. is an amazing woman. I will stay with Sanders but I would kill myself working for her even though she is not nearly as progressive as I would like. You who support her are a classy group. I would love to see a ticket with the two of them. Honestly, we will have a ticket soon enough and whoever it is will be our candidate and we will all need to work hard. Frankly, if it were not for the elections right now I would be a puddle of worry and sadness. There is another way than the way we are headed and our party will change it back.

Congratulations to all, especially to Bernie tonight. It was close and this makes it better. At least early it is nice to make them really compete with each other.
