Sanders isn't coming out of a DNC convention as a nominee. Unless he wins prior, the party isn't risking the House to a Democratic socialist.

And don't be surprised when many independent progressives stay home or vote 3rd party. If he loses fair or square that's one thing if its biased and they conspire against him a lot of people will check out, IMO.

So, let's keep the primaries and convention fair and all will be well, no matter who wins.

Things like Perez's picks show a strong anti-progressive bent. It's hard not to think back to 2016 when there were a lot of things that disenfranchised a lot of people with how the party did things. The Wikileaks, the funneling of funds the her campaign over downtickets. Hillary getting the debate questions, there was a lot to make people go third party or even worse Trump. And Trump is already calling out the examples of the establishment showing a bias. A lot of supporters may sit this one out too. Many independents are more left of center

Even Iowa and the issues it had as well as Pete having funding with the app developer, people are skeptical already. Look at some of the quotes here, only 53% of current Bernie supports said they would vote for another nominee. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/02/will-bernie-sanders-fans-only-vote-for-bernie.html. I think many progressives could vote for someone like Warren but I think if we go establishment, many of their votes are gone.

If Sanders doesn't get the candidacy, Independents check out due to perceived unfairness.

If Sander does get the candidacy, Democrats check out because socialist.

Thats still a lot of votes to throw away in what is going to be a tough election, if the establishment tries to be shady and run off one of the top candidates and his loyal base that would be foolish.
