Bloomberg has also been endorsed by former Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter, and by former Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
That probably isn't a complete list. I just took some names off Wikipedia's page of Bloomberg endorsements, and confirmed them via articles found on Google.
Anyway...I don't know how many, if any, of these mayors will withdraw their endorsements of Bloomberg because of old audio circulated by supporters of one of his rivals, now going viral.
My best guess is that they probably understand the context of the remarks. And Bloomberg has admitted that the stop and frisk policy was a mistake, and apologized for it.
But we'll see what these mayors, who respect Bloomberg enough to have endorsed him, will do.

(146,330 posts)Do they enjoy broad support in their cities? If so, their endorsements might count for something.
I don't think about mayors much, except for the mayor of my own city, St. Paul. He's losing the confidence of a lot of people who voted for him, right now. It's too bad. But I don't know how any of those mayors are doing in their cities.

I'm sure those Mayors were well aware of this obviously but it didn't hinder them from endorsing.
