Tue Feb 11, 2020, 08:20 PM
Feb 2020

Despite a reputation as the “liberal” news network, MSNBC and NBC News have been harshly critical of Sanders, with hosts and contributors alike launching attacks on the senator.

On Monday, “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd referred to supporters of Sanders—who lost family in the Holocaust—as a “brownshirt brigade,” a reference to the Nazis. “Hardball” host Chris Matthews was slammed Friday for a fantastical rant about a potential Sanders presidency that ended with Matthews being executed in Central Park.

There's an anti-bullying instinct that people have. There's a lot of anti-Bernie hostility in MSNBC, not all the hosts there, but overall it's obvious, and it gets ridiculous at times (e.g. Chris Matthews talking about executions in Central Park).

The point she makes about the cynicism and dishonesty of the "Bernie's lost 50% of his support since 2016" talking point is also very true. Do the people in the media pushing that line really think people don't understand that there are lots of candidates this time instead of basically just two?

He has good positions, but his supporters are so overbearing, it destroyed any goodwill I had until Iowa.

I was convinced he was the one this year. All the articles and polls said so.

Then the godamned mother******* whining started, again, after Iowa. Nothing but #1 will do and he deserves it godamned it!

No, actually, he doesn't deserve anything - he needs to earn it. And part of earning it is having some damned humility for fucks sake! I've never in my life seen such an attitude of entitlement - it's maddening!
