Democratic Primaries

There should be no fear of any weakness from any of the Democratic candidates as far as I am concerned. So Bernie is a soclalist and some pig headed, stupid Americans don't know enough about that to vote for him. They wouldn't be any more likely to vote for Bloomberg, Buttigieg, Biden or Klobuchar either because people who have that kind of bigotry and ignorance are going to support Trump no matter what. The Democrats need a candidate who will activate some of the dormant constituents of the party in the deep South to drag senators and congressmen over the line and in the larger, progressive states to win those electoral votes in places like Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and even in North Carolina and Texas. Let the process go and let them nominate whomever. They can all win and I'll bet anyone that we have both a Democratic president and senate to join a larger house majority after November.

(14,971 posts)Polls in swing states that we need to win the electoral college are the only polls that matter and they're a lot closer than the national polls. I hate national polls because they make people complacent.

(68,671 posts)Trump got impeached trying to knock Biden off...there is no way to know how the other candidates will fair. I believe Sanders will lose as a result of the GOP smear machine and his socialist shtick...sure I get it but many voters won't. The other candidates won't carry Michigan, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania ... I will make two exceptions. Warren with a good VP pick or Kolobachar if she moves up in the polls with a good VP pick...have a shot. I think Bloomberg can win because he has a great deal of money and will appeal to moderates in both the Democratic and Republican parties...this would make up for the Sanders voters who refuse to vote for the nominee. Warren would not have this advantage. Possibly Klobachar would coming from what is an increasingly purple state. Biden is still the one that win the blue wall states without which we will not win the presidential election this year or in 2024. It is our only path to the presidency right now. Could we win Georgia or Texas sure...but not likely if we lose this year that will happen anytime soon.
