Mon Feb 10, 2020, 09:58 AM
Feb 2020

Could be trump supporters, and for a moment lets pretend these are in fact Sanders supporters? You all think this is good, that this is going to help unite the Democratic party?

If Sanders supporters are reacting that way it is because of the vitriol they and their candidate are experiencing from all the negativity against Sanders, and this is only helping for a repeat of 2016 where Sanders supporters were made to feel they were not welcomed in the Democratic party so they decided to stay home or vote for the creature.

Not sure how even the candidates don't realize this is very negative, and immature in many respects.

Who said "this is an election Democrats should win unless they manage to screw up?", continue this and we won't have anyone to blame but ourselves.

He could stop it but won’t. I saw a news article last week that was quoting some poll where 45% of Bernie supporters said they would not vote for the Democratic nominee if it is not Bernie ( in fairness, I don’t know whether that’s true). If Bernie is the nominee, I’ll vote for hum. If it’s one of the others, his supporters damn well better vote for that person or we’ll have another four years of Trump.

And that right there is why Bernie is doomed to failure. Bernie needs an "army", a large committed group who vote FREQUENTLY and are CONNECTED to the system. Without this "army" or movement, his strategy is a failure.

I would note that in response to a post claiming a few people booed Amy in public. At the time I posted, there are over 115 people standing on an internet soapbox "booing" Sanders and Sanders supporters. Is there a difference between booing in person and booing in an internet forum. I do not really think so.

The people booing Sanders and his Supporters have the same relation to their own candidates. Bernie clearly has bad supporters who are in your face. I wish that was not the case and there was actually a way for candidates to control people. Actually I do not hope that. However, no matter how much the swarm of people posting on every Bernie thread claim that it is only Bernie's supporters, it is not, and none of the candidates have control over their most fervent supporters. People in primaries are emotional and tend to think their opponents are the bad ones and minimize their own candidates and fellow supporter's foibles and bad acts.

Bernie lost Iowa. Instead of accepting a close second finish, Bernie instead declared himself winner spurring his supporters to attack everyone and everything involved with the Iowa caucus in an attempt to muddy and delegitimize Buttigieg's official victory.

Remember how Bernie has talked about a groundswell to sweep him into office? Well so far this groundswell has manifested itself as a unruly mostly online mob tutti - rebellion, anarchy, and trolling.

The results contain significant errors and that why they’re being rechecked.

But to many here of course having photographic evidence and direct testimony from the district heads of incorrect results being given is just ‘Bernie whining’ or being a ‘bad loser’. Because apparently if you win and the count is fucked up, you should just be ok with that.

'The 2020 Iowa Democratic caucuses took place in Iowa, United States, on February 3, 2020. These caucuses were the first nominating contest in the Democratic Party primaries for the 2020 presidential election. The Iowa caucuses are a closed caucus. Iowa awards 49 national convention delegates, of which 41 are pledged delegates allocated on the basis of the results of the caucuses.

After a three day delay for all votes to be reported, the Iowa Democratic Party declared that Pete Buttigieg had narrowly won the state delegate equivalent (SDE) count that a majority of news organizations use to determine the winner.'

This type of quick thinking and charm was always evident in her senate questioning. Unfortunately we had screwed up priorities and were looking for prosecutor types. Not to knock Kamala Harris but I'll never understand how she could possibly be preferred so heavily above Amy, when there was never any comparison toward how each would fare in a general election against Trump.

If Amy had started with Kamala's numbers and name recognition she would not have dropped. We'd have an entirely different dynamic at the top of the race.

I hate the primary process because there are so many mistakes. In fact, it makes me sick to look at our polling right now. It's like a determination to lose.

Does Sanders ever admonish? Does he ever call on his supporters to exhibit some class? I'd seriously like some examples.

He has some kind of reluctance to tell his supporters what to do. Everybody else? Eh.

Good for Amy. Call them out by name, then see how they like it.

Remind me again how the Bernie Bros are all myth and propaganda? Instead of the mean-mouthed, insulting jerks they've always been.

Yeah, that group.

As a former Minnesotan, I have always really liked her. Her and Al made one heck of a team. Shes a very close second choice behind Pete for me.

This makes it look like they can’t get along with anyone.

131. Why doesn't Bernie try to control this behavior?

All he'd have to do is issue a public statement to this effect:

I do not condone any insulting or harassing behavior through any medium directed toward any other candidate or his or her staff or supporters. Any member of my campaign staff who insults or demeans other candidates via social media or otherwise will be dismissed, and any volunteer who does so will not be allowed to work for the campaign in any official capacity. I will disavow anyone who claims to support me but who insults, harasses or boos another candidate at a public event; that person does not speak for me. I demand that anyone involved with my campaign in any way always behave civilly and courteously toward other candidates and their supporters, and I expect that they will enthusiastically support whoever is eventually nominated. Our collective goal is to defeat Trump and I will not tolerate divisive behavior in my campaign.

I wrote that in five minutes. Couldn't Bernie find that much time to do something like that?

Perfect response. I think Amy is really underrated. She is sharp and would be hard for Trump to beat.

The Bernie Bros are something else. They are their own tribe out get everyone else. They aren’t team players at all.

If that is intentional, then their job is to spoil, not to win. They want “Bernie or Bust” to be the national trajectory.

And America needs leaders and firefighters, not more arsonists coming from the other side of the house.
