This time, I am finding myself more and more put off by his comments as the process unfolds.
I am afraid he is willing to destroy the party if necessary to give him a chance at the nomination. I dont see that same attitude from any of the other candidates.

Got it.

Nor do the mention the dozen or so Super PACs that are buying ads for Sanders or putting out literature or actually campaigning for Sanders or the so-called "dark money" organizations (e.g., Justice Democrats, Our Revolution, etc.) supporting and campaigning for him.

(115,902 posts)It's interesting that he stopped complaining about millionaires when he became one himself (he's much richer than Buttigieg, by the way). The problem isn't that billionaires exist, or that they donate to political campaigns; it's that we have an election system that relies on large amounts of money. Nobody can run for office successfully without it. Some of that money comes from PACs which don't have to disclose their sources (that's Citizens United). Bernie has PACs, too, but he doesn't mention that. He wants us to believe that all of his campaign contributions come from the tiny bits of cash that poor widows scrape from the bottoms of their tattered handbags and starving orphans collect by selling plasma and send to Bernie because he's the hero of the proletariat or whatever, even though the truth is that his donors send in their $2800 in small increments so it counts as multiple donations from multiple donors.
I say, bring on the billionaires. If Pete and the others are getting donations from billionaires, good for them. They need the money. That's the way the game is played these days, like it or not. If the billionaires are donating to Democrats it means they don't want Trump.
And, by the way, economic inequality isn't what causes racism. He hasn't figured that out, either.

(40,234 posts)He has animosity toward the Democratic Party. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to get what he is doing. He would be very happy to see the demise of the Democratic Party. He sees his colleagues in the Senate and in Congress as the roadblock to his own political agenda.

(54 posts)Since there are far, far worse problems than wealthy individuals giving the legal limit ($2,800) to Pete's campaign. You can't compare that to the actual corruption and lobbying.
