New Morning Consult poll has Sanders w/ 1 point lead. But LW candidates have 36% to 54% for less LW.

Sanders 25% + Warren 11% = 36%.

Biden 24% + Bloomberg 15% + Buttigieg 12% + Klobuchar 3% = 54%

So more than half of respondents want a candidate who isn't too far left, versus slightly more than a third who want a candidate to the left of most of the party.

Sanders is still well below where Biden usually is in this poll, even though Warren isn't doing well.

The vote for less leftwing candidates is simply being split by too many credible candidates.

that all of Warren's supporters will flock to Bernie if she withdraws. There are plenty of Warren supporters who want to support a female candidate and she was the only one to have gained any momentum in the months prior to the first contest. Those Warren supporters want nothing to do with Bernie.

Wow. just Wow.

The morning consult poll has been the STRONGEST poll for Joe all year long.

It has a sample size of over 15,000 responders.

It's been the poll keeping Biden's average up in the polling aggregates.

This is simply a game changing moment.

THIS will definitely impact the polling averages going forward.

Oh, don't let me forget to say...

what if the logic is wrong? You are assuming that all those who support Biden, Bloomberg, Buttigieg, and Klobuchar want a candidate who isn't "too far left." Maybe that isn't the case though. What if they are just supporting one of those candidates because they like them for whatever reason and not because it is some anti-"far left" vote?

I know progressives who are supporting Buttigieg but would rather see Sanders or Warren be the nominee than Bloomberg or Klobuchar.

less left than Bernie, or Warren, or whoever, I support him because I feel he’s got a solid shot at getting elected and accomplishing things. His status as a moderate is neither a bug nor a feature, as the agenda of anyone who actually wins is going to be moderated by the inertia of representative government anyway. Ain’t no revolution in an election.

My second choice would be Warren, then Yang, then maybe Buttigieg. Most people I know personally have a similar list. I have no interest whatever in Bloomberg, and the less said about you-know-who the better. I’m voting for competency and electability.

She is liberal yes, but she is NO Bernie Sanders. Please quit equating her with him.

Someone recently posted a graphic on DU that showed that Klobuchar is MUCH closer to Warren ideologically than she is to Biden. I wish that I could find that chart.
