(102,292 posts)Sorry, I waited until now to comment so that I could watch this unfold, read her accusation and watch her interviews. And, I have let her explain to us her issue and "motivations" in coming forth now.
I call BULLSHIT smear attack. (Whether you mansplain it to me or not! )

(102,292 posts)But, I'm done with this manipulation campaign. I am decidedly UNDECIDED, but I'm not going to be silent when I see intentional attempts to smear Biden or any other candidate. And that is MY opinion after fully weighing what is being presented.

You have an opinion, Peter Daou has an opinion. We all have an opinion. Giving that opinion is not "mansplaining".

(108,980 posts)He's just stating his opinion to the world at large.
And I think it's dead on, especially:
"If you're making judgments about #LucyFlores based on whether it helps Bernie Sanders, you're getting it wrong.
"If you're making judgments based on whether it hurts Bernie Sanders, you're also getting it wrong."

Also starring Lisa Flores as the Recipient of alleged wrong doing.
You just have to determine if this was before or after the alleged offense.

(43,408 posts)Peter Daou (born April 25, 1965) is a Democratic strategist who has advised major political figures, including Hillary Clinton, Arlen Specter, and John Kerry. He was described by the New York Times as "one of the most prominent political bloggers in the nation." The Washington Post said that his early work in digital politics helped innovate "a whole new way of campaigning."
Daou was an online communications adviser to John Kerry's 2004 campaign, and led Hillary Clinton's digital operation in her 2008 campaign.
Daou was the prior chief executive of Shareblue, and the co-founder of the media platform Verrit.
Daou and James Boyce claimed to have performed a founding role in the Huffington Post and said they were shut out of any profits from its sale to AOL. A suit was filed in 2010 by Daou and Boyce, which was settled in 2014.

(10,832 posts)I'm astounded at how short-sighted this whole approach is. Women have waited forever to be taken seriously, to have their voices heard. This sort of nonsense just cuts the whole message off at the knees.
Stupid and counterproductive.

(10,126 posts)Really?
Two words for one example: Sarah Palin
or how about: Rosie Ruiz
or Anna Anderson
or the youngest female victim of Luis Vargas who stands by her identification after DNA cleared him
or Jennifer Thompson who admitted she must have been wrong after the man she accused served 11 years before DNA freed him.
I could go on and on.
You have to use your head. You don't automatically believe someone because of their sex.
The "default" position above is WRONG!!
The default position should be something like : listen to the allegations, take them seriously and encourage someone in authority checks them out. Don't completely doubt her. Don't completely accept what she is saying.
The stats are much better than they used to be years ago. Now, roughly 95% of the time now, women are not lying according to some studies. So that is incentive to take the allegation seriously. But it goes too far to hear an allegation and automatically believe it. Where is the due process in that?
With what is going on here, it is sketchier. It's not full blown sexual assault. And the timing is suspect. Both women have mentioned politics. It is a different situation and not in the sexual assault veracity category in my opinion.
The pictures of Ms Flores at the event do not reveal a troubled woman with Joe Biden. She had all kinds of time to chat it over with him. In my opinion, she should have contacted him first to see what he had to say about it before blindsiding him in the media.
To automatically believe someone because they are a woman is discrimination. It's wrong.
