Warren, Castro say they believe woman's claim about Biden
Associated Press
Associated PressMarch 30, 2019, 10:03 PM CDT
STORM LAKE, Iowa (AP) — Some Democratic presidential candidates expressed support Saturday for the Nevada political candidate who alleged former Vice President Joe Biden kissed her on the back of her head in 2014. But they didn't say it disqualifies Biden from joining the race.

Speaking to reporters in Iowa, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former HUD Secretary Julian Castro said they believed Lucy Flores. She wrote in New York magazine that she felt uncomfortable with her interactions with Biden.

Warren and Castro said it's up to Biden to decide whether he should join the race.

He wasn't in my top 5, but I was willing to give him a chance. This is just BS. She was pictured right afterwards with her hand on Joe's shoulder, smiling and happy. People who were with her said she had no complaints and there's pictures of her in the same exact pose with Bernie - but that's ok? It's ok to express compassion, that is all he was doing. This is from a Sanders' surrogate, worried that Joe will beat her guy, that is all this is - pure partisan BS. I used to be a rape counselor so there is no way more anti-assault than me. This is not that.

When will Dems stop lopping off each others' heads? It's just unseemly, weak and so very wrong!!! Repugs don't have to worry about defeating us, we do it ourselves.

Stop it! Dems must support each other, give each other the benefit of the doubt, because the lies and slanders will 100% be raised against ever single front runner - it's already happening and will just get a ton worse, especially if we keep falling for their antics every time.

Flores' whichever versions.

Event organizer: Biden, accuser were never alone together

“I have thoroughly reviewed photographic documentation from the event, and spoken to nearly every principle in attendance, as well as staff associated with the event. To the best of our recollection, at no time were Lucy Flores and Vice President Biden alone,” Henry Munoz, co-founder of Latino Victory Project, said in a statement.

“Lucy is my good friend and a good friend to Latino Victory, which has strongly supported her political career. I also firmly believe that women need to be supported and heard and that there is a reckoning in our culture that is long overdue. Vice President Biden is also my close friend, to the degree that he presided over my own marriage. These are both individuals that I love and respect,” he said.

“Yet at no time were these two leaders alone together and I, and the organization I cofounded and those in attendance, do not believe that circumstances support allegations that such an event took place,” he added.

“I believe” is quite another thing. And, so what? Do Warreb and Castro think this matters to the presidential campaign, and if so how?
