Mika Brzezinski Defends Joe Biden: Extremely Affectionate, Extremely Flirtatious in a Completely Safe Wayby Colby Hall | Apr 1st, 2019, 6:56 am
Mika Brzezinski defended Joe Biden in light of recent reports of alleged inappropriate and unwanted affection shown by the former Vice President, who many believe to be a front-runner for the 2020 race for Democratic nominee.
Biden is under media scrutiny after former Nevada State Assemblywoman Lucy Flores detailed, in a piece for The Cut, a very awkward and uncomfortable encounter she experienced in 2014. Numerous videos of a touchy-feely Biden showing affection towards women and girls have been used to show how he may cross lines have been shared, though one such recipient, Stephanie Carter, has since pushed back and claimed that it was not a #MeToo moment.
Brzezinski, a consistent advocate of womens rights, opened her defense of Biden cautiously, describing this as a very extensive and careful conversation that we need to have.
She then defended Biden who she described as a friend Theres a lot of things I know about Joe Biden Ive known him for a long time he is extremely affectionate extremely flirtatious in a completely safe way, adding I am sure that somebody can misconstrue something hes done. But as much as I can know whats in anyones heart, I dont think there is bad intent on his part at all.

(2,342 posts)Certain people have big hearts and that is Joe Biden. Compassionate and warm who has dared to be a real person in a dog eat dog world. Tired of this attack on him. Look at policy for goodness sake not this ongoing onslaught character assassination of a genuine and good person. Flame away. Im off to prepare taxes and witness first hand the assassination of the middle classs pocket book and the depletion of the working classs livelihood as I advise them to pay up for 2018 and drastically increase federal and state withholdings for the coming years. Where does Joe and others of our remarkable Dem condiadates stand on the issues that effect our daily lives? Sorry for rant. This was first post I saw today. Mika is spot on.

(15,524 posts)Women have experienced his flirtatiousness differently and he has said that if anyone was uncomfortable he will listen and learn.
Having two women who've known him over a long period of time speak out for him helps.

(17,622 posts)..touches another person in a manner that is MADE to make them feel uncomfortable compared to someone who not knowingly has made another person uncomfortable and who would never do it on purpose. Ok someones elbow accidentally brushed my boob...is different that having my butt grabbed on a crowded bus. And I've been in the workforce many years and have had many male co workers hug me and not once did i feel i need to make a huge deal out of it. Cuz..it wasnt!
At least Im smart enuff to know the difference and dont need to go on tv to whine about it.
