Who's winning -- and losing -- the great 2020 money chase.
Here's the run-through of every 2020 Democratic candidates campaign fundraising.
Candidates spent the last three months of 2019 frantically raising money and then spending it faster than ever in preparation for the most important stretch of the race: The early primaries and caucuses that start this Monday. And only a handful came into 2020 with the cash to survive for long.
Some candidates, like Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, are in a solid financial position. Sanders took in more than $34 million during the last three months of 2019, all-but-guaranteeing he can keep buying ads and paying staff through the first primary and caucus states. At the other end of the spectrum, candidates like former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, who raised $2.3 million during the initial weeks of his campaign, are making difficult choices on where to campaign and where to skip.
Then theres the races newest entrant, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg has blown traditional campaign spending out of the water: He spent $188 million during the last five weeks of 2019.
