This country treats elderly terribly.
I have even gotten an OK, Boomer for saying that.

Sometimes they mix us Boomers up with our parents. We are not the ones who set
Fux Youz up as a bastion of information. It was my dad.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

Originally, it was not thought that social security would be the only source of income for seniors. Many economists and politicians spoke of a "three leg stool" where the other two legs - pensions and savings - have all but disappeared for most. This makes social security even more critical.

In addition to social security, there is a need to look at all elements of the security net. This administration has slashed many needed resources for people of all ages struggling to get by. One recent one was changing SNAP (originally food stamps). In some states, including VT, state law has linked qualification to other benefits - like LiHEAP subsidizing heating fuel - to qualification of SNAP. That means the Trump changes will have far reaching impacts.

No matter which Democrat wins, restoring the security net has to be a top priority.
