These people need to come back to reality. There has never been a successful socialist government yet in historynowhere on any continent.
Communism,a form of socialism, was an abject failure in the USSR.

(25,471 posts)They clearly believe he'd be the most advantageous for Trump to run against.
They also "promote" him occasionally, though I think that's as much to sow discord as it is hoping he'll gain momentum.

(3,855 posts)When the GOP promotes" Sanders they really arent' promoting him so much as attacking the DNC as corrupt and uncaring about its base.
This is a sentiment leftover from 2016 and even before. Let us be honest, the Democrats have never really faced why that perception exists. It is brushed off which only reinforces that perception even more. The GOP is simply taking advantage of that.
IN short, they are trying to suppress the vote, the exact opposite of what Sanders is trying to do.

(3,855 posts)For one thing, Sanders has been under the radar
For another, conventional attacks like what Trump used simply don't' apply to Sanders
And lastly, Sanders doesn't back off or prevaricate about what he believes.
Call him a socialist and he responds "Damn right. And so are you except fro the wealthy"
Cant attack Sanders without attacking his ideas and his ideas are popular even among Republicans. The last thing Republicans want to do is remind their base the GOP has not' really done anything to help.
