Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was reportedly seen sleeping during the Donald Trump impeachment tria

This is one of the most important issues facing us today. We have moved to impeach the President of these United States. He is a traitor. Treasonous bastard who wishes to destroy us all.

I understand our candidates are exhausted. So is the American public. Our lives, our children's lives are at stake.

I understand that he has health issues, many of us do. He needs to remain awake at the wheel. He needs to steer our course with a steady hand and to be forever alert to the dangers that face us.

I expect the same of every candidate.

Before you ask.

And i had the luxury of coffee which was not present in the chamber for some reason.

When Moscow Mitch allows new documents and witnesses, then it will be way more meaningful.

Also...some people were passing notes. And chewing gum.

You can get detention for that!

Whose job it is to be informed.

Just like it's the Senators' jobs to be informed.

I watched the House hearings. If I snoozed during a House manager summarizing that for a minute, I've missed nothing meaningful.

Additionally:
In Sanders' case, we don't see his eyes to know he's asleep, we don't know if they are returning from break, the person next to him isn't there. But apparently he's guilty until proven innocent.

Guilty of what? Possibly dozing off while hearing something he already knew. Possibly.

Cameras and electronic devices are illegal in the chamber. Who took this picture or was it allowed during break?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Thu Jan 23, 2020, 11:49 PM

Are his eyes open or not?

An artist had to draw a picture of a Republican Senator because no cameras are allowed.

Was a camera allowed because they were coming back from break?

Who took this picture, what day, what time?

I will add that no, I wouldn't think this is a big deal even if true,
dozing off after 12 hours (allegedly) when listening to something you already know.

Chinese laborers working 16 hours a day manufacturing keyboards get docked for bathroom breaks, too. Is your answer, "they need to do their job?" If Mitch McConnell was forcing people to work all night and removing the coffee, then it makes sense to take a snooze during break, or it's understandable if someone dozes off briefly (allegedly).

Bernie's JOB is to be informed, which he is, and vote the right way, which he does. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 0.2, if it's anything at all.

As an undecided voter, it doesn't tell me good things that someone who claims you have to pay attention and follow rules brought a camera and took a picture of an ally to attack them instead of dealing with Republicans or watching the alleged arguments being discussed, if they were even being discussed.

Where's the proof?

If I were to vote in a presidential

Fri Jan 24, 2020, 12:41 AM

The accusations are well-timed and simplistic.

People in this country are innocent until proven guilty.

Were Bernie's eyes open or closed?

Cameras are disallowed.

Did someone take a picture
1. During break?
Or 2. During the time they were supposed to be doing their job?

Who did it? When? What time? How is it logically possible to stand up to take a picture in a room full of working people with a judge looking on?

Why not take a picture of his face?

This happened when people were returning from break, right?

Right?

Even if he dozed off for a moment during something he already heard I don't care. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 0.2.

But your posts haven't established that at all.

This looks much more like a hit job.

Thu Jan 23, 2020, 09:40 AM

if Democrats aren't? Honestly I get some of the arguments on this thread. Frankly I think there should be 15 minute breaks every couple of hours, the day should be limited to 8 hours total, it should be starting at a reasonable time. But that said, the bottom line is we can't complain about the GOP sleeping if Dems are sleeping.

Bernie is well aware of what Trump is and he knows all the evidence that has been presented. He's more awake than most that sit in that chamber. This twitter out to be spending time writing and complaining about the 12 fucking Republicans that walked out of the trial. People's priorities are all fucked up when they complain about a Democratic candidate nodding off instead of what the fucking Republicans are doing. But anything to get a shot in.

Cut these guys a break.

The Republicans who are shockingly and despicably learning much of this for the first time -- when they don't refuse to listen -- are very different from those who are already informed. And I won't bash old men who've been working like dogs for napping as the legal case is laid out for several hours.

Fact is Sanders was at the Impeachment trial of the President of the UNITED STATES. Fourth one ever in our long history. He was a member of the jury and zoned out for a bit. He is a Senator, whose salary is paid for by we the people and we the people expect them to do their jobs. We know the GOP won't defend the Constitution, we expect ours to. One must be awake to do just that.

Some here do not understand the gravity of this Impeachment trial or the crimes that have been committed by this sitting President. Some do not seem to know that he has broken the law and his oath of office. He has alienated our allies and made America less safe. He is caging children, babies, mothers and fathers that are dying in the for profit detention centers he and his buddies set up.

He is pimping out our service men and women to other abusive countries, ie Saudi that murdered a reporter and helped cover it up. He boasted in an interview he received, HE received a huge check for that. I am appalled that you are not appalled that Russia hacked our elections 2016 and will attempt a second round in 2020. I am appalled that you make it about Sanders and not this country.

As much as I like Warren, she does not have my undying love. I will vote for whoever can win. I will vote blue. We need to correct this and my feelings, this is our last chance.

When a person dozes, they lose muscle control. If he was sleeping, his head would be bouncing a lot, it was steady. Also, he had his hands clasped and his fingers were moving in a pattern that shows that he was making them move, the hands being clasped and fingers moving per direction both say that he was alert.

There have been times when I have closed my eyes in contemplation. The body stays steady and muscle action is instructed, all of which Biden was showing and Bernie showed none of that (Senator Sanders was sprawled as if needing a bed).

Fri Jan 24, 2020, 08:40 PM
Jan 2020

I have been in droves of dull technical meetings. The trick is to stand or have a chair that flexes so that you can move. Standing and rocking gently from foot to foot, or moving while sitting causes blood to flow faster, keeping a person awake.

Drinking a cold liquid also keeps a person alert because the body reacts to the cold hitting the stomach by increasing blood flow.
