Democratic Primaries

in the primary election on March 3. Biden is running, though, so he gets my vote. While I would vote for Bernie Sanders if he became the Democratic nominee, I would not vote for him in the Minnesota primary.
Sanders now has the endorsement of Hugh Hewitt, of all people. Even Donwald Trump is talking up Bernie. Having the ironic endorsement of right-wing Republicans tells me that they'd love to run against Senator Sanders.
So, if I were faced with a primary ballot that didn't have Biden's name on it, I would vote for Senator Warren or, frankly, any other Democrat on the ballot. I would not give my primary vote to Bernie Sanders. Not a chance. I vote for long-time Democrats in primary elections, not sometimes Democrats. Always.

Senator Warren, on the other hand has worked her ass off to make things happen. She is less concerned with her own reputation and standing than with helping the American public do better.
Bernie votes on principle. That principle is whatever gets his name mentioned. He introduces a Medicare for All bill that he knows has exactly a zero change of becoming law. He's not really trying to make MfA happen. He just introduces it for publicity purposes. Would he do differently if elected as President. I don't know. He might push for things that cannot happen and refuse to approve beneficial things that can happen.
He has voted several times for things or against things that are passed by a strong bipartisan vote, just to make a point.
I cannot vote for him in a presidential primary. I would vote for him if he were the Democratic nominee, but will not if I have a choice of other solid Democrats, as I do in the primary election. Bernie Sanders is only a Democrat when he must be to run for President. At other times, it is difficult to know what he is, really. So, no primary vote for Sanders from me. I vote for Democrats.

(146,324 posts)I won't waste my vote in that way. I love Amy. I know Amy a little from talking with her a few times. I hope she continues to be one of our Senators, and she'll have my support in her campaign if she runs again for that position.
But, she cannot win the Democratic nomination for President. So, I'll be voting for Joe Biden, unless something horrible occurs I would not vote for Bernie Sanders in a primary, though.
