Amy using her comb to eat salad shows great ingenuity to me. Use what you have to make it work.

Asking someone to clean the comb ...depends on how that was done. I don't really know how it was asked so I can't ezpress an opinion on that.

That's how you end up with an unnecessary DNA test, and making matters worse.

I'm not taking a crack at Elizabeth Warren. I'm taking a crack at the ridiculous notion that every charge has to be countered. Amy is verifying my faith in her by recognizing that she doesn't have to be twisted up into a ball every time a negative story appears.

Her restraint has been perfect. If Amy had responded in the fashion you prefer, then I would drop her down the list because it would mean her instincts were sub par. A lesser goof would be summoning current staff members to appear with her on televised stage, like Trump pathetically with the employees at his Doral golf course. "Tell them I'm a great boss. Go ahead...tell them."

Unfortunately in the Trump era that type of thing is tested repeatedly, the instincts on what to respond to and what to ignore, and how to respond if you do respond. Hillary actually did very well during fall 2016. I'd love for any of our 2020 candidates to manage day to day as well as Hillary did in 2016. Trump was so frustrated at the lack of daily combat he was chastising Hillary for not doing many events. I'm more than a bit worried our 2020 nominee will be sucked into it. You can't win if you are sucked into it, as Trump's primary opponents discovered.

Hillary's problems stemmed from low upside due to long time name recognition and not considered likable, plus obviously the email issue. If this were an email type situation for Amy then a quick strong response would be necessary. She has handicapped properly to recognize it is not necessary here. A few wow debate performances and it is long forgotten. However, the high number of debate candidates makes a wow performance more difficult. You really need to shine in those brief scattered responses.

From what I've read about her so far she reminds me of supervisors I've walked out on.

It's one thing to run a tight ship but it's a whole different thing to be a taskmaster.

Also if you proclaim yourself a champion of family and sick leave be sure to make your policy reflect that instead of changing it after it was exposed for being not-so-friendly.

All of a sudden all the anonymous reports.

Klobuchar has been in the Senate for 11 years. The ones who "suffered" no doubt have long left her and got new jobs. So why are they afraid to speak up, for the record?

Credit the school of Stone and others. You know why? Because of all of a sudden republican opinions, like George Will and the WSJ like her. So for the ones who are disillusioned with Trump but are scared by the Leftist Warren and Harris, supporting Klobuchar is a comfortable place to be. Of course, there are many of us, long time loyal Democrats who are scared of a President Harris or Warren, though I would love to see them continuing with their work in the Senate.

Then if she climbs out of the lower-tier <5% basement candidates they can get more exposure for themselves with their story, handing over the emails, etc. They don't have much to gain identifying themselves publicly at this point, especially if they are still employed in DC, no point in bringing all that attention if she isn't even in contention.

I guess this is too much to ask, as is cleaning something -- don't want to get dish-pan hands!

If not a comb ("Amy has lettuce in her teeth" ) it would've been "Amy's low salad bar: eats with hands like a barbarian" or "Amy leans over salad, grazes like a horse after fork loss -- can her outrageous behavior to her staff be reined in?"

27. Sounds like the staffer who gave her the salad caused the problem
Sun Feb 24, 2019, 01:41 PM
Feb 2019

As a senator she is on a tight schedule and has little time to take care of her physical needs - like eating. She relies on her staff to make sure that she is fed when she can grab a quick moment and also ensure she has utensils to eat with.

When we order fast food or get something delivered or picked up for us, sometimes someone in the chain forgets to include utensils, napkins, items that were paid for, etc. Shit happens. A competent staffer would ensure there were contingencies in place so that the senator they work for gets fed when she has a free moment and has utensils to eat with. That would eliminate the possibility of an "eating salad with a comb" story from ever happening.

There are no small, unimportant jobs. But there are a lot of people who view their jobs as small and unimportant and treat them as such.
