Sanders and Warren haven't spoken since debate clash on sexism allegation

Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) haven’t spoken since a heated exchange on the debate stage in Iowa on Tuesday, when Warren accused her rival of calling her a liar on national television.

Sanders told reporters in the Capitol on Thursday that the two leading progressive rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination haven’t made any attempt to bury the hatchet since Tuesday and declined to discuss the matter any further.

Asked if he and Warren have spoken since the debate, Sanders replied tersely: “No, we haven’t spoken.”

Warren appeared furious after the debate when she confronted Sanders about denying her claim that he told her in a 2018 meeting that a woman couldn’t beat Trump in November’s general election.

CNN released audio of the exchange Wednesday night, putting to an end 24 hours of speculation about a moment that was caught on camera but not initially on a microphone.

“I think you called me a liar on national TV,” Warren said, seemingly catching Sanders off guard.

“What?” he replied.

“I think you called me a liar on national TV,” she repeated.

Sanders appeared to try to defuse the situation by offering to talk about it later.

“You know, let’s not do it right now. If you want to have that discussion, we’ll have that discussion,” he said, before telling Warren she had also called him a liar.

But the senator did not feel like talking about it at the start of Trump’s impeachment trial.

I've never seen posters who have so many rules about what CAN'T be posted about their candidate, Biden, whether it be votes from 20 ago, or how many times a story can be posted, stirring the pot, or supposed non-issues he still messes up like cannabis, but none of those rules apply to other candidates or their followers. It's all fair game then.

Should we check back in an hour to see if they have spoken. Maybe this evening, and again tomorrow, so there can be another post. Biden supporters sure do love this supposed issue.

name is rump. I'm sure that Warren and Sanders will smooth things out between them. They both seem responsible, adults, and capable of actually apologizing or the like, IMHO, and moving on to deal with the serious issues and not get stuck like rump does on stupid issues, such as the color of the jerseys the space force will wear, or other nonsense that he gets fixated on.

Idiot rump is the target ... Senators Warren and Sanders will like the responsible adults in the room, will resolve. I have every satisfaction that they will do so. Heated moments in campaign events are bound to happen. My firm belief is that ALL democratic nominees, all democratic supporters, all independents, and quite a few republican defectors will all join together to get this monster of a so-called president and his cronies out of office.

unless he said "Women should not run."

200+ years of history tell us that women have not done well running for Prez. Not their fault, that's on the stupid voters. Should have changed long ago, but expressing an opinion that a woman likely would not beat trump is hardly sexist.

to ascertain what exactly was said and in what context Its not about "being nice" or not nice, its about what's worth focusing and expending energy on and what isn't.

Mobilizing against facism and against the further dismantling of 100 yrs of progressivism - IMPORTANT. Dithering about who said what two years ago- not so much.

My#1 criteria for a nominee is a coalition builder, a masterful cat herder who can work with and pull together all the divergent wings of the Dem party.
