Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI took a candidate matching quiz online and I agree with Donald Trump...
...on 9% of the issues, according to ISideWith.com.
Ahead of him I matched with
Buttigieg (95%)
Sanders (94%)
Klobuchar (94%)
Warren (93%)
Steyer (89%)
Yang (89%)
Biden (88%)
Gabbard (86%)
Bloomberg (83%)
Delaney (75%)
It's strange that Bloomberg was the lowest scoring mainstream Dem for me on this survey, as he was in a four-way tie for 2nd place on the WaPo site's matching quiz. There, I agreed most with...
(12) Steyer
(11) Biden - Bloomberg - Buttigieg - Klobuchar (so basically the ones who have a B in their last name and don't worship dictators)
(10) Yang
(9) (!!) Warren
(7) Sanders
(4) Gabbard
(1) whoever decided reality shows should replace sitcoms
(-3) Barney the Dinosaur
(-8) Adolf Hitler
(-11) Adolf Hitler's evil twin
(-17) Donald Trump
(NB: a few of those scores I had to interpolate from external data sources)
In other words, these online assessments are enlightening, helpful in focusing on what issues are most important to me, and not reliable for matching you with a candidate. But the bottom line is that I'm above 75% as a match with any given Democrat. I can comfortably support whoever our nominee is.
There's reasons to argue and debate, but not really all that much worth becoming angry about before August. I'll be content with whoever our nominee is.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(47,586 posts)I could find some redeeming quality in almost everyone, except for Donald Trump. He is truly the most despicable person I can think of.

He's not very healthy, so hopefully, the world won't be stuck with him for too long.

(14,961 posts)I had 93 percent for Sanders, Warren and Steyer. I wonder which questions are used to determine the the percentage for Trump? Mine was 9 percent as well, I can't think of anywhere he would agree with me?
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(54,065 posts)It's statistically impossible not to agree with him occasionally. Like say you support immigration and Trump is answering this same question while his wife is in the room.

(61,703 posts)Biden came in last, which is kind of sad. I like the guy. He's just way more conservative than i am. Bernie was fairly low on the match. I disagree with his views on gun control, carbon tax and other environmental issues (he's much more conservative than me), and trade.
On the Isidewith poll (which had kind of a right-wing push poll kind of vibe, to me) Warren and Sanders tied at 96% match with my views, followed again by Stayer (!), Pete, Amy, etc. Biden was pretty low. The Donald was last.

So, their results should be taken with a very large pile of salt.
It was the topic of some interesting threads in 2015.

(54,065 posts)Remember four years ago, when they were poisoned against Trump April and May he didn't be about 13% ahead of trump in popular vote. 50 states is unrealistic, but before he got tarred by being in the public eye, which happens to all candidates, he was the best chance for a landslide against Trump. 30+ States was certainly a reasonable prediction.

(25,478 posts)They just made up numbers. They then slanted the ideology tests to produce the numbers they wanted. People would intentionally answer the questions with conservative answers and still end up with Sanders.
Unless there have been drastic changes behind the scenes, the site is a fraud.

(6,554 posts)I ended up with Steyer and Warren at the top and Biden and Sanders at the bottom. I'm surprised by Steyer, but not with any of the rest. Warren and Sanders have less in common than Progressives want to think

(31,121 posts)So he doesnt really have positions on anything as he knows nothing about everything, including and ESPECIALLY business and real estate.
Now, if a rightwing asshole who loves him says " I think we should torture small brown children" he will say OK, no problem...that is now his position.
I cant believe this shit is happening.
