Amy Klobuchar lost the Debate by not winning...

She's an appealing candidate on paper, but she hasn't resonated with Primary voters and hasn't cracked double digits in polls for any of the early States. She's also right on the bubble for future Debate fields. She needed a breakout moment that would garner some additional voter attention and give her some forward momentum for the final three weeks. She didn't have one.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Have become useless and redundant. Stupid questions over and over with practiced stilted answers. No candidate looks good, just flat and practiced. How about a weekly show featuring their speeches and townhalls from the week? Let's see how they think on the fly and talk about current events. Something has to be better than what we've seen this election cycle.

that if she dropped out of the Presidential race now and became one of the managers for the impeachment trial (she is a sharp prosecutor) she could run again and win.

Amy's status isn't high enough for that to be a good thing. Really interested to see how this all goes. I suspect her caucus-goers will migrate to Joe at sites where she doesn't meet the 15% threshold. I suspect if Biden gets 5% of the 7-8% Amy is likely to get, he may win the state.

So, even though Booker has many good qualities, I think he is pretty much out.

Also, after 2016, Joe would want to make sure he got the African American vote to turn out. To me, that pushed people like Senator Harris, Stacy Abrams, and Val Demmings to the front of the list. I would estimate it is a 95% chance that Joe would pick a woman for his VP, and about 70% chance that she is also a woman of color. If not a Black Woman, than a Hispanic Woman. So, I think I would make my list this way:

1. Prominent Black women of color: ie Harris, Abrams, Demings
2. Prominent Latina women of color: ie Cortez-Masto
3. Prominent White Women: ie Klobuchar, Warren.

For Joe Biden not to pick a woman for his VP slot would be to basically hand the Presidency to Donald Trump. I don't even want to imagine how angry the women of America would be if that happened. In addition, with that many unhappy women in America, I think many men in America would be quite disappointed themselves. A bad time would be had by all.

Amy Klobuchar was never going to be the nominee. She simply doesn't have the widespread recognition any nominee would need. Not in a race with two dozen candidates at its beginning.

Iowa will be the end of the road for Amy Klobuchar. She will get no delegates from the caucuses and will have no reason to stay in the race. Watch for her announcement on February 4 or 5.

She's a great Senator for my state. She will continue to be that, as long as she chooses to be.

a lot of us Biden fans would be backing Klobuchar today.

I have always liked her, and I believe that, like Harris, she would make an awesome President. No matter what happens, it is almost certain that this will be Joe's last run if he does not win the nomination. Klobuchar is young enough to run again and has run a solid campaign. No matter what happens, I believe that we will see her again. I think she is awesome.

She had a great night. As did Buttigieg.

Kloubuchar looks like the best VP pick to me.

Not because she's a woman but because:

1) I think she'd help secure wins in MN, MI, WI, & PA. Plus AZ, FL, and NC. And extend Democratic coat-tails in key Senate and House races.

2) After a win, we will need a VP who can help get legislation moved through Congress. Who has a better record in this regard than Klobuchar?

3) Biden needs a true-partner, one he can trust on both a personal level and a person he can trust with big jobs. Someone to fill the role he had as VP with President Obama.

To my mind these are the 3 critical factors in a VP pick for Joe Biden. No one else comes close on these fronts in my estimation.
