Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumSo in December 2018 Elizabeth Warren invites
Bernie Sanders over to her house, to tell him she is running for President. I imagine snacks coffee and lots of chatting.
So I imagine he respects her and knew right from the get go she would be formidable.
So I imagine that he contemplated how to dissuade her from running and maybe talked about the horrible 2016 campaign. So I imagine he says to her Liz youd be a great candidate but I just dont think a woman can be elected in 2020.
I believe Liz.

(1,812 posts)Liz appeared to have had a very warm relationship with Bernie this summer .Now , she has decided to get offended about a conversation that took place in 2018 ? .. Is she mad that Bernie has moved ahead of her in the polls? Fact : Bernie urged Liz to run for President in 2015 ...Her deferred his Presidential ambitions in favor of HER .. Now , we are supposed to believe he told her NOT to run for President because a woman can't get elected to the High Office ? ..... Warren's staffers urged her to de-escalate the conflict and have conceded that his version of the 2018 meeting is closer to the truth than hers .Yet she chose not to shake his hand ...

(67,782 posts)....in the campaign. The script went to people in more than one state. This was not the doing of a "rogue". Campaigns do not put things out like that without the approval of someone on a high level in the campaign.

(32,640 posts)You apparently didn't read what you are up in arms about.
1. She told friends about the conversation back in December 2018, and one of them leaked it. She didn't suddenly "just decide to get offended about it"
2. Neither she nor anyone else (other than you) has stated that "he told her not to run."
3. Neither she nor her campaign leaked this information. If you have evidence that someone did, and she's lying about it, please do let us see it.
Until then, you seem to be confusing wishful thinking with facts.
Perhaps getting the facts before becoming outraged would not only help one's outlook, but it would help one's credibility.
You're welcome.

(68,667 posts)sure seem more like Sanders supporters to me-not saying you-but it gives one pause. Sanders went after her in the early states said she was an elitist and used it as a script for canvassing multiple early states which is why her campaign spokesperson said Sanders told Warren he didn't think any woman could be elected president (payback) and I have no doubt Sanders said it. His next mistake was to call her a liar on stage...going to leave a mark. Warren showed guts yesterday and as a result, she is now my second choice in the primary, I would never choose Sanders in any primary...only a general which he won't get to IMHO.

(38,958 posts)all I could gather was your opinion of what happened at a private meeting between the two. To my knowledge none of us were there or know what was said.
