Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg told ABC News this week he will not take any steps to release women who have signed confidentiality agreements with his company to speak publicly about past allegations that the former New York City mayor fostered a hostile work environment for some female employees.
You can't just walk away from it, Bloomberg said. They're legal agreements, and for all I know the other side wouldn't want to get out of it.
Last month, ABC News reported on several lawsuits in which Bloomberg was accused of making crude remarks in the 1990s and of allegedly fostering an uncomfortable environment for women to work -- allegations Bloomberg has denied. Three cases against the company remain active.

(6,831 posts)I want a candidate who is TRANSPARENT. I'm sick of the closet of skeletons and these rich, white, old, male billionaire CEOs who think they can run government better than the people educated in public policy, foreign policy, economics and The Constitution. We've already seen what that kind of man can and will do. Never again.
The $$$ he and Steyer are spending in adverts is obscene.

(11,991 posts)Well yes, since getting out of an NDA would probably mean, not only being able to tell your story publicly, but also having to give back the settlement money that would have come with it. You can't hold just one of the two parties to the terms of the agreement. If the parties agree to nullify, both sides are giving something up.
I suppose Bloomberg could say that he will not hold those who would like to speak to their NDA, but will also not ask for the money back. I don't see that happening.
