Hard to walk that back. Thought we were on same team? "Disagree with policy specifics" team. Not "I want to win no matter what scorched earth " strategy.

That said, it pisses me off to no end when our candidates go after one another - it's counter-productive. This isn't a normal primary season or general election. This is a battle for the soul and sustainability of America.

My opinion of both Harris and Warren went down a notch when they went after an opponent with a very scripted attack during debates. Not only were the actual attacks a major turn off, but it reflected on the attacker's character in a way that is hard to forget. That is not what I want to see in a president. I want Democrats to be better than that.

We've seen enough raw destructive politics the past three years, I want to see character and integrity from our party and its representatives.

That said, I still love Elizabeth Warren, but I am still terribly disappointed.

I guess it depends on what kind of party and voters you are trying to appeal to. Apparently many republicans like "blood sport" politics. Maybe it is like watching some violent game on television, where winning is all that matters and they can cheer on their guy. I think that is part of what they love in Trump, he's not afraid to get down and dirty.

Yes, I still like Harris. What she did was a rookie mistake I suppose and it is possible that she got some really bad political advice. I think a candidate needs to control their campaign and put their foot down whenever someone suggests that kind of campaigning. I think Hillary was often the victim of bad political advice, especially in 2008. I could always tell when someone (Mark Penn maybe) had told her, "Be more _____" - too hard, too soft, don't smile enough, laugh more, be strong but not too strong, etc. It was exhausting to watch, but in the meantime, Obama won because he was a better candidate, even though I thought she was more qualified.

...and remains unanswered, what is Sanders' "strong" record? He's accomplished a fraction of what Biden accomplished as a Senator and Vice President. Surely he can't talk about his own record and accomplishments, so he goes on a fake attack about Biden's record.

I'm really getting tired of these fake attacks on Biden by Sanders and his hit men. It's deplorable.

Here is Sirota's latest tweet, from this morning, rehashing a misconception from back in May as though it just happened:

believe he has a ceiling in our party. At this time, anyway. All you have to do is think about the polls that show 1/2 the Dems think beating the monster is job 1. Add in that our country is divided and not predominantly liberal.

can have long term effects on people. It is like an addiction and I don't think Sanders ever recovered from his loss in 2016. There was a time when I believe he ran because of his ideals. Now it appears to have become an obsession, one that not only could affect him negatively, it could have long range repercussions for the party.

This kind of destructive in-fighting is exactly what republicans love to see. Voters, not so much.

recognizing that the country as a whole is not liberal enough (YET). Add in the tremendous headwind of the republican Facebook smear tactics, lack of any legislation or preparation to combat tRussian interference and a win for him is so unlikely. We will have a hard enough time as it is without adding infighting to the mix.

I think the country is far more liberal than they think they are, but most people become uncomfortable with the prospect of major change in a short period of time. Also, the candidates who are described as "moderate" are also more liberal than the media suggests.

The petty infighting will turn off a lot of voters and in the long run could benefit republicans. Personally, I hate it. A lot of competent, qualified people go down a notch with every petty attack. As I recall, Obama avoided such attacks. For awhile, I had preferred Hillary over Obama in 2008, but her attacks on Obama never sat well with me. It is like living through an endless family feud, one that wears everyone out and goes no where. Meanwhile, even after everyone makes up, some of the cruel things said will hover in the air for a long time.

Other than that, more misses than hits. Far more, IMO. Anita Hill, the crime and bankruptcy bills and the IWR vote were all unqualified disasters. Other than gay marriage, I can’t think of one issue where Biden has stuck his neck out and led. He has always tended to run with the herd

So Bernie has a point; Biden has had to update much of his career to pass for a contemporary liberal. Biden has chosen to laugh this attack off but the problem with that approach is Bernie gets the stronger headline.

Personally, I’d like to see a substantive response from Biden defending his record and attacking Bernie. He might as well get in some practice now because whatever Bernie is throwing at him are spitballs compared with what he’ll face from Trump if he’s the nominee.
