And so you know this isn't some random person.

And of course not one word from the Sanders campaign will be forthcoming.

this tweet (unlike those from a day or so back) does not appear to come out of the campaign itself. A "supporter" sure, Sanders "camp" perhaps so. But I'm not sure that Sanders can be expected to control what is coming out of his supporters. What's coming out of his campaign? ... hell yes! But there's a distinction there. Right?

(and I was one of those on here criticizing Sanders strongly when his people were circulating the edited video)

And it's not even true. For one thing, nobody joins the military just so they can run for office someday (if that were true, why don't we have more politicians who have served in the military? Most have not, including Bernie). More importantly, Buttigieg had already been elected Mayor of South Bend in 2012, which was before he was deployed to Afghanistan in 2014. He was in the Navy Reserve from 2009 to 2017.

Bernie's people are going to alienate a whole lot of voters who might otherwise have supported him. He needs to get control over these people - if he even wants to. Great way to piss off veterans, Bernie. Anybody who's been to Afghanistan knows it's a dangerous deployment no matter what your job is.

Buttigieg's deployment in a partularly dangerous area of Afghanistan "a photo op"?

Some facts, as opposed to insane propaganda from that Sanders supporter:

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/442082-documents-provide-glimpse-into-buttigiegs-military-service

According to the documents, Buttigieg served in the Afghanistan Threat Finance Cell (ATFC) in Kabul, placing him in “an imminent danger pay area” from late March to mid-September 2014, while the then-32-year old was still serving his first term as mayor.

"Sanders, who in 1988 had been mayor of Burlington for seven years, took the trip at a time when he was trying to put himself on the national stage." So it's OK for a mayor of a small city to spend his honeymoon being wined and dined in Russia, praising socialist systems, in order to put himself on the national stage, but it's not OK for a mayor of a small city to be deployed to a region of Afghanistan where soldiers were being killed by IEDs for (allegedly but not actually) the same reason?

I don't know whether that has always been the case but social media certainly amplified the ability to talk with so much self-righteousness and conviction that you are right even though you don't have the slightest clue.

I don't see an apology because as another sign of our times, you don't have to take responsibility for the ignorant garbage you spew. But she is definitely getting roasted now with others talking about their loved ones taking photo ops in Afghanistan.
