If a Democratic presidential nominee actually selected a Republican running-mate (very unlikely) and that selection was confirmed by the Democratic Convention (damned-near inconceivable), would you:

(1) Vote for the Democrat,
(2) Vote for Trump,
(3) Vote for a third party, or
(4) Not vote?

Your response does not answer the question whether you would vote for a Democrat with a Republican running-mate, only that you would not vote for the Republican. There are two other options: voting third-party or not voting.

As for me, I'm voting for the Democratic candidate no matter who it is or who they select as a running mate.

But we cast the vote for President. We do not vote for the Vice President.

By refusing to vote for the Democratic nominee because they have selected a Republican running mate is refusing to vote for a Democrat.

Or another way to say it is the OP's position is it is better to have Trump for four more years than elect a Democratic President, who has a Republican VP.

sure the same would be required of the nominee's running mate.

In which case, even if an originally Republican running mate was chosen, that person would be a Republican who became a Democrat.

Straight ticket top to bottom. Now we have to get the candidates on the same page and not only unite the Democratic party but widen the tent so that it will hold the 60% of the electorate who won't support Trump in November. This needs to be an electoral beating that will drive the willful ignorance and "partisanship over patriotism" out of the Republicans. That will require making active Democratic voters out of those who stay away from the polls on election day.
