Bernie Sanders beat Democratic rivals to raise $34.5 million in the 4th quarter

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bernie-sanders-raises-34-5-million-in-4th-quarter/

Bernie Sanders raised $34.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2019, his campaign announced Thursday, racking up 1.8 million donations in the quarter ending December 31. Sanders' best fundraising month was December, when he collected 900,000 donations totaling over $18 million.

In addition to the impressive total for the quarter, the campaign announced on January 1 that it had reached 5 million campaign contributions, more than any Democratic opponent and more than President Trump's reelection campaign.

According to his campaign, the most common job held by Sanders donors in the fourth quarter was teaching, but the most common employers were Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, the U.S. Postal Service and Target.

The average donation was $18.53, and 99.9% of his donors have not maxed out their donations to Sanders.

According to the campaign, 40,000 new donors contributed on the last day of the year. In December alone, it raised more than $18 million from over 900,000 donations, making it the campaign's best fundraising month to date.

That video you posted states that "the people" love him, and the "Democratic Party hates him."

However, the people in the Democratic Party elected Hilllary Clinton as the nominee, by nearly 4 million.

Holy Shit … Putin went into overdrive in Q 4 for Bernie , Right ? … Bernie has been fighting for the working class for 50 years and the working class are fighting for him …. Bernard will bring in countless new voters if we nominate him ...We can go down that victorious path, or try to persuade moderate Republicans - both of them - to join our cause by swerving to the center- right in the General …

Warren shares Bernie's TRADITIONAL FDR-like compassion... and his balls so to speak. Their fans, combined, far exceed the alternative. I'd vote for either of them.

23. "FDR compassion"
Thu Jan 2, 2020, 11:21 AM
Jan 2020

"When Franklin Delano Roosevelt took office in 1933, the country had been suffering with the Great Depression for almost four years. The message from the American people to the new president was loud, clear, and universal: Do something! Anything! Standing in his way would have been an act of political suicide. President Obama, on the other hand, took office just as the economic meltdown was beginning to peak. ... The timing mattered not just because the most devastating effects of a recession caused by Bush's policies were about to be felt under Obama's watch, but because the delay in the impact of the recession gave Republicans just enough wiggle room to play politics with it." Al Franken.

FDR had large majorities in Congress and Senate. Obama only had a filibuster-proof 60 votes in the Senate for four months and ten days. Republicans wouldn't vote for anything. Historically unprecedented obstruction. This is why FDR got things done and Democrats can't. Do people not know history? WTF. How do people not know this? YOU HAVE THE VOTES OR YOU DON'T. Nothing to do with feelings.

And a person with compassion doesn't imprison Americans of Japanese descent in internment camps.

However, you make a good point about Obama. The Democrats have a tradition of progressive policies across the board. SO LET'S ELECT SUCH TRADITIONAL PROGRESSIVE CANDIDATES!

("Tradition" sounds like a Republican mantra, but we live in a topsy-turvy era... and while we're at it, Democrats are intelligent about "conserving" the planet. So they are both traditional and conservative.... So I conclude that we should stop calling ANY Democrat "pie-in-the-sky" idealists. They are all rock solid DEMOCRATS.)
