(58,424 posts)4. The phrase "love conquering hate" or something similar to that has been around a lot longer
than 2016.
The phrase "violence begets violence" (or "hate begets hate" ) means that violent behavior promotes other violent behavior, in return. The phrase has been used since at least the 1830s.[1]
Violence begets violence is a concept described in the Gospel of Matthew, verse 26:52.[2][3][4] The passage depicts a disciple (identified in the Gospel of John as Saint Peter) drawing a sword to defend against the arrest of Jesus but being told to sheath his weapon:
"Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword."[5]
Words by Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. (19291968) used the phrase when saying:[6][7][8]
Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love... Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the white man, but to win his friendship and understanding.[6]
The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy, instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.[9]

(58,424 posts)5. P.S. I believe Hillary's slogan was "stronger together" in 2016
at least according to CNN.
(CNN)Hillary Clinton's campaign considered and rejected 84* potential slogans before landing on the now-familiar "Stronger Together," according to a hacked email posted Wednesday by WikiLeaks.

Furthermore I'm not sure that Bernie has formally made this his official campaign slogan, so much as using this profound piece of wisdom to fight the vile hatred that Trump spews on a daily basis to the nation and world at large.
I believe Bernie's slogan best as I can tell is "Not me, Us"

in so many days or is it the same one with a 5th OP?
Also, how many times did Bernie visit a mosque prior to running for president? Has he ever been to one in Vermont? There are two of them there.

(58,424 posts)9. Bernie Sanders Visits Mosque to Talk Security, and GOP "Demagogues"
They want us to believe that the average Muslim is a terrorist.

On Wednesday, the Vermont senator told a small crowd at Washingtons Masjid Muhammad (also known as the Nations Mosque) that demagogues trying to divide the country are acting in shameful ways in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif. He then stressed the strides the country has made to overcome hatred and discrimination in the past.

Sitting at a table with a coterie of religious leaders from around DCImam Talib Shareef of the Nations Mosque, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), Rev. Reginald Green, Rabbi Batya Steinhauf, and Chaplain Abdul-Rasheed Muhammad of the Department of Veterans AffairsSanders spoke about the history of bigotry and urged Americans to avoid letting fear divide them.
Its no secret that throughout the world and in our own country we have seen centuries of bigotry and intimidation, sometimes with unspeakable results, Sanders said, listing the Holocaust, Rwanda and Bosnia as prime examples of times hateful rhetoric has caused unnecessary and tragic violence.
He denounced the recent rhetoric of demagogues when it comes to Muslim immigration, calling out GOP real estate mogul Donald Trump by name and saying the anti-Muslim comments have prompted an increase in hate speech across America.

(1,532 posts)10. That is an article from December 2015
when he was already running for POTUS.
My questions were simple.
1. How many times has he visited a mosque before running for POTUS?
2. Has he ever visited one of the two mosques in Vermont?
