I don't see her recovering her political career in the Democratic Party after that. Even if she voted "nay", it would indicate a modicum of a backbone (and maybe a bank acct full of rubles ).

She isn't going to be welcome in the democratic party anymore and she can't win anything in Hawaii as a republican. She has one career now and it's as a Fox News contributor. She will probably end up as a 3rd party perennial candidate and will probably pull more from Republican voters than Democratic.

We need to just start ignoring her.

She does have that defense background. As a lobbyist, she'd be less in a position of power than of supplication and greasing, so less offensive to the RW guys I'm assuming she'd be working with. Also as a fundraiser, which she has experience in.

You can pick a narrow time window where she missed more. But that is essentially cherry picking for results.

but I changed to undecided when she dropped out. At this point I am not sure that I have a preference from one candidate to another out of the front runners. Certainly I will be happy to support whoever the nominee is.

I don't consider Gabbard a Democratic candidate. While she has the (D) next to her name, her actions seem to have no relationship to Democratic party ideals.

But that doesn't mean I am going to be hypocritical about what standards I apply to any person or candidate.

often times these "votes" are of little or no importance .. and their staff are making sure they're available for the ones that count. You can make a case for anyone who's actively campaigning not being on hand for day-to-day "breaking eggs, and making omelets" (i.e., legislating) .. but the old metric of "missed votes" has always been a bit of political canard.

When you look at the entire year it doesn’t paint a good picture for several of them.

Booker - 66%
Sanders - 65%
Harris - 63%
Warren - 55%
Gabbard - 40%

There are plenty of reasons to have issues with Gabbard. But her attendance record is far from the worst among the current candidates.

Is there any legislative outcome that was impacted by her absence? If so, I understand the outrage. A more honest headline would read, "Co-chair of Gabbard's opponent's campaign wants her to resign."

Gabbard has already stated her intentions to leave Congress. She appeared unlikely to survive a primary challenge from the Establishment Democrats. There will be an election either way in November. No need to waste money on a special election for a vote that has .001% impact on the legislative process. But Gov. Abercrombie, here is that attention you ordered.
