Elizabeth Warren qualifies for 2020 Washington State primary, off and running -- and hiking
Sen. Elizabeth Warren has received word from the Secretary of State that she is on the ballot for the state's March 10, 2020, presidential primary, which has supplanted precinct caucuses in picking delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
"We're so happy that our grassroots movement has reached this important milestone," said Washington for Warren state director Maria Leininger. The campaign had to submit 1,000 signatures.
The Massachusetts senator watered the grass roots with a late summer rally that drew over 15,000 people to the Seattle Center, spending four hours posing for selfies that have popped up on Facebook pages of many progressive Democrats. Warren and husband Bruce Mann also found time for a quick hiking stay in the Methow Valley.
The Democrats of Washington has a near-70 year tradition of romance with liberal (now progressive) presidential hopefuls.
