If nothing is done about outsourcing doing what Biden is suggesting will be a mute move. His idea is great but outsourcing must be taxed in such a way that it slowly disappears.

i.e. bringing in people on so-called "high skilled" work visas, to do work that needs to be done here, instead of actually, ya know, hiring and training qualified Americans (who do actually exist).

the revenue from those taxes should go to unemployment/continuing education fund. Apple needs to start building factories in the US at least for some products. Take a look at Japan, they have already moved so much of production from China and other countries back to Japan. This is because they discovered automation and it became cost effective to manufacture in their country. Those are high skilled jobs that we need more of. We need to start bring it home movement. One of the largest benefits is that we won’t be subsidizing Chinese economy.

some of these clauses are there to protect the business for legitimate reasons.

for example, what if you start work at a job, get all trained, learn skills (at their expense) and immediately take those skills elsewhere and get another job?

or what if you learn something proprietary at a company and then you go work somewhere else and use that knowledge?

there are scenarios where the company needs protection. I have no problem with an employee agreeing to reasonable protections for the company as a condition of working there.

That's usually covered by patent law. But, there's a whole lot of gray area around the edges. One company can poach another's talent and easily replicate a competitive advantage just outside of what's patented. Particularly poachers with very deep pockets. Why develop an advantage yourself when you can steal it? I've seen it before.

but, we have to be careful with competitive theft by more powerful companies poaching talent and thus processes and methods. Stealing competitive advantage from the relatively weak, simply because they have deeper pockets. Like most things, it's complicated. But, I do think many companies take it way too far, and in that Biden is 100% right.

I went though Biden’s website and his health insurance proposals are absolutely best and achievable. I can’t believe some people on DU would support repealing ACA to advance Medicare. Biden would introduce public option - separate pool from Medicare but with the same compounding leverage over health care providers and drug manufacturers. You mess with Medicare fund itself, say goodbye to support from beneficiaries. If either Warren or BS wins the nomination, I expect colossal losses across most races, local or national and landslide victory for trump (much like right wing Reagan). Reagan was the worst president in our history, even compared to trump, because he transformed our country from the largest creditor to the largest debtor. And he did so very skillfully, so that many people didn’t even realize it. It’s like maxing out on multiple credit cards - great life but short lived. He set us on an irreversible path to economic collapse. MFA is a trojan horse that will destroy us as a party. Devil is in the details. It’s time for dems to unite and reject demagoguery and toxic populism that is infecting our party - e.g. free college for all, free healthcare for all, guaranteed job placement, forgive all student debt, etc. We know that nothing is ever free so it is a lie.
Anyone who proposes repealing of ACA does not belong to Democratic Party.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
