Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWhy Joe Biden is our best bet.
Every time you hear the name "Biden" we now think about Trump's corruption....Because Trump tried to get dirt on Biden's son. It is that simple. Yes, 30 percent will vote for Trump. Or maybe 35 percent. But the rest of us, will not vote for Trump, and we have all heard hundreds of times that Trump wanted dirt on Biden's son. So, there is already significant sympathy for Joe Biden and the focus will be on Trump's corruption..every time we hear the word "Biden"
...We must win in order to save this country and undo some of the crap that Trump has done. Trump cannot deal with the word, "Biden" and attacking Joe only makes Trump look worse. (Which is what we want, isn't it?)
...We want Donald Trump to look worse to the most. Joe Biden will do that, because Trump has already done some "illegal" acts to the Biden Family. And keeping those acts in the public eye is most important. Just saying the word "Biden" highlights Trump's evil acts which he was impeached for.

(38,439 posts)..Everyone who follows politics knows Trump tried to get crap on Biden's son. Having Biden as the candidate highlights those illegal acts without even trying. Isn't that what we want to do? Highlight Donald Trumps corruption and stupidity. So the word "Biden" is an instant connection as most of us know. If Biden is our candidate, then that word will be repeated millions of times in the next 10 months. Yes, millions of times. And it is most likely that word will be connected to Trump's corruption.
..So Warren or Sanders will not ignite that connection. But "Biden" will ignite that connection to Trump's corruption, instantly, even if that is not the reason that the word is being said. Think about that one for a moment. ....instant connection to Trump's corruption

(15,651 posts)Especially as Brad Parscale ramps up the social media disinformation campaign. The worst they have against the other candidates is "Pocahontas" or "socialist".
Trump will get way more than 35% of the vote, unless there are some earth shattering significant revalations to come during the election year (certainly possible, but not a sure thing).
The rest of the top tier candidates do not have the same vulnerabilities as Biden, and would almost certainly inspire a larger voter turnout, especially among young voters. Despite closer margins in the polls (which this far out, are close to meaningless), if our nominee inspires massive turnout, we win.
That's our "best bet".

(6,611 posts)In a recent podcast, Robert deNiro apparently said whoever the Democratic nominee is, they have to confront him and put him in his place, because the people have to see that - to see him be humiliated. (him - of course - being impotus)
For me, Biden immediately came to mind. There was a town hall recently (within the last 2 weeks, IIRC) where Joe yelled at someone who was spewing BS. It took me by surprise because I thought his emotions were going overboard - BUT that outburst was the first thing that popped into my head when I read deNiro's comment... and I thought 'yeah, I think Joe would fit the bill'.
