1. Favorability means nothing in elections. When I was growing up in NYC, the first Mayor....

....I was aware of was Robert F. Wagner Jr. To many, he was very unpopular and very much disliked. And yet he won the office of Mayor in a landslide, and was re-elected twice in landslides.

So much for "favorability".

primary today, I would vote for:

2. So your anecdotal evidence suggests we should choose a candidate with the most unfavorable ratings

to win?

Personally I find it ironic with Bernie an Independent now running for President as a Democrat has the highest favorability rating at 75% among all Democratic voters, what kind of message should we take from that?

3. Let's hope Bernie's gaffes reduce in number and his polling stop moving laterally but forward!

If he can get over his stumbling and poor debate performances, his campaign could quite possibly become competitive.

Fingers crossed!

(kinda ironic you indict someone else for the use of 'anecdotal evidence'... yet I'd put ten bucks on the table saying you're unable/unwilling to see that irony)

6. How many debates have we had to date

with Bernie's "stumbling and poor debate performances?"

I imagine if Bernie improves during the debate in January his favorability rating might also rise from a mediocre leading the field 75% and increase his paltry Presidential primary record breaking number of donors and donations from the American People?

I am happy that you hope Bernie improves and becomes more "competitive."

4. Who said that? Once again you draw an illogical conclusion on something I said to "prove"....

....your point.

BTW, being elected Mayor of the biggest city in the country, and back in the 1950s/1960s probably the world, isn't "anecdotal".

Here's an anecdote for you - I'd bet Taylor Swift would have a more favorable rating than any of our candidates. Would you vote for her for President?

8. People don't just like Sanders, they trust him

When they look at the policies he proposes, they prefer them overall. They think he's bet on the issues.

And while anecdotal I think that translates into trust that Sanders will do everything he can to make those ideas reality. I know the media complains Sanders doesn't change his message but many see that as a positive. He isn't pandering. He believes in what he says.

Also may explain Sander's "Sticky" support. His supporters are a lot less likely to switch to someone else.

Might explain why so many candidates were for Medicare for all All at first.
