Childish Gambino Announces Andrew Yang Fundraiser

Here’s a political endorsement we didn’t see coming: Donald Glover, the mercurial multimedia superstar sometimes known as Childish Gambino, is in the tank for Democratic presidential candidate and notable ex-goth Andrew Yang. Glover and Yang are appearing together tomorrow in Los Angeles.

Glover, who likes to keep things mysterious, announced it on his Instagram story today, though he didn’t say anything about a location or what, exactly, might be happening. (The most recent Childish Gambino live performances were at the Austin City Limits festival in October.) Presumably, we’ll learn more about the event soon.

I think Yang's message of providing an income floor will resonate with a lot of people of all races. Yang has come this far despite being all but ignored / treated like a joke by the media. I'll enjoy seeing where his candidacy goes from here!

100%; and yes, the UBI is appealing. I support Yang however he wants to run his campaign. He will draw thousands and thousands with Childish G, no doubt.

I found out just how much of a non-monolith black voters are when I tried to Yang some neighbors and found out they're almost all Trump voters. We live in a slum, I was fkn *floored*.

Endorsements only take a candidate so far but I do think this only helps Yang, imho.

do interviews and such, but they're not interested. It's terrible, I think.

23. This is a solid endorsement.

Glover is very accomplished and seems to have a huge network across multiple platforms. These are the endorsements that I feel really do have an impact. Not much of one, but it will move people into Yang's corner.
