Mike Bloomberg's TV Ads are really good

Almost hate to say it, because he’s sort of a usurper. I don’t agree with buying a nomination, but give the devil his due. The ads are very effective.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Including $41 million on House races.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/30/us/politics/michael-bloomberg-democrats-donate.html

Source for the $100+ million:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/26/politics/bloomberg-ad-buy-democrats-midterms/index.html

He's also donating $10 million to House Dems dealing with impeachment this cycle.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/11/politics/nancy-pelosi-michael-bloomberg-donation-house-democrats/index.html

He more than likely won't be the nominee (I don't support his candidacy), but there's also little doubt he's going to try to help Dems win in big numbers again in 2020.

Bloomberg listens to people, states his own beliefs and positions and is willing to have a conversation.

Is it worse to spend ones own money or to take money from big corporations?

Bloomberg has always come across as a supercilious nanny-stater. That might have not have hurt him in Williamsburg or SoHo, but in the Mississippi Delta or the South Side of Chicago he might be at a disadvantage against someone just a pinch less condescending towards the poor.

and have actively passed legislation to massively benefit big banks and corporations?

I don't know that he is more "center right" in his positions than many Democrats.

Some of our candidates have been close to Bain Capital-Mitt Romney's company.

Bloomberg certainly has been willing to explore things like cash transfer payments to poor people and he has been solidly pro choice.

Few people are as rich as Bloomberg-but our Democratic field has a number of multimillionaires, including Joseph Biden.

Bloomberg's father was a Polish immigrant bookkeeper and his mother was a secretary-no silver spoon childhood. I think he worked his way through college.

He is definitely not a trumpian con man. He backed Clinton for president-and was certainly opposed to Trump.

I haven't had cable in ten or fifteen years, so network tele is my option. In north central Texas (the Dallas-Ft Worth area where I live) Bloomberg and Steyer are the only two primary ad buys I've seen (90% Bloom, 10% Steyer).

He hits all the right bullet points, but it's just so damned generic. Playing the Political Mad Libs game, he could be any candidate running for any position against anyone and it would all sound the same.

He is putting out his record as mayor on NYC. He is the only candidate in the race with that particular background, so how can it be generic?
