Bernie Draws Massive Crowds in California

Jon Queally / Common Dreams MAR 24, 2019

Generating comparisons to his 2016 insurgent run for president that saw overflow crowds in nearly every town he visited, Sen. Bernie Sanders drew a “yuge” crowd to a rally in Los Angeles on Saturday as the 2020 presidential candidate made his first swing through the country’s most populous state of California over the weekend.

The Los Angeles Times put the estimated number of attendees at the rally in a sprawling city park at 12,000 people, but others suggested the number was much higher.

I was there
Not sure it means anything in the bigger picture.

I was taken aback by folks I met there saying they would never vote for Hillary. That was big turn off but it's California so I wasn't worried. That attitude apparently was prevalent in the swing states also sadly.

12,000, but twitter told me it was 22,000 which is a curiously bigger number than kamala's oakland numbers.

Good for him, I know a few people who would be there i am sure.

And that's not including the Riverside/San Bernardino/ Ontario metro area, which is adjacent to LA.

By comparison, a few weeks ago one of our candidates drew 20,000 people in a metropolitan area 1/3 the size of the LA area, and #12 on the list.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
