When Looking at Support of Billionaires, How Much Is Putin Worth?

I notice that a new talking point is to look at support from millionaires and billionaires. I am not sure where the information is coming from, but I notice that Tulsi is often listed as not having much billionaire support. Of course, does that county Putin who used his resources to boost Bernie in 2016 and is boosting Tulsi this time around.

Vladimir Putin could be the richest man in the world. Take that, President Trump.

Last year, Hermitage Capital Management CEO Bill Browder told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he believes the Russian president is "the richest man in the world" with a net worth of $200 billion. Browder has some bona fides to back up his Russia connections; the financier's firm was once the largest portfolio investor in Russia.

Celebritynetworth.com has a more conservative estimate: $70 billion, which matches the figure Russian political analyst Stanislav Belkovsky gave the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in 2012. Forbes, the universally accepted source of wealth information, has dubbed the former KGB agent "the world's most powerful person" but does not give an estimate of his net worth.

A spokesperson for the publication told Town & Country earlier this year that's because they haven't been able to figure it out: "While Forbes has been able to track money tied to Putin’s allies, we have not been able to come up with a defensible, provable estimate of his net worth."

1. It's hard to say. Most surely the richest man in the world.

As I have understood it, all the oligarchs money runs through him. He continually skims or is paid by them. AND if he so wishes he can take it all back from them.

5. BBC: Is Russia trying to sway the European elections?

What is amazing is that despite Russia's interference in 2016, and it is continuing efforts to influence elections throughout the world, that we are not taking a closer look at the positions of candidate's on Russia. Tulsi is not the only person who has gone out of her way to cozy up to Russia.

https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-48296557

EU officials say Russia is using disinformation to influence the outcome of this week's European Parliament elections. How seriously should their warnings be taken?

"Winter isn't the only thing that's coming - so is the risk of interference in our elections," said Sir Julian King, the EU's commissioner for security, in a press conference late last year.

Their primary suspect is Russia. EU officials say the Kremlin has for years been using disinformation to sow discord and confusion across Europe, while undermining voters' trust in the European Union and its democracies.

Russia flatly denies such accusations, calling them "completely false" and "unsubstantiated". But some commentators believe voters' discontent with the EU - the very thing Moscow is accused of stoking - should not be pinned on foreign actors, but rather on domestic politics.

4. The idea that a rich person is "worth'' x dollars does not feel right.

A rich person may have 'gotten', stolen, defrauded, extorted, etc. x dollars, and is 'rich' - but that person is not necessarily 'worth' anything.
