New York TimesIn the speech, delivered at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics in Manchester, Ms. Warren called unnamed rivals naïve for their willingness to believe that they can produce meaningful change without directly challenging the wealthy and powerful. She also criticized Democrats for limited political thinking that often bows to Republican whims.
Unlike some candidates for the Democratic nomination, Im not betting my agenda on the naïve hope that if Democrats adopt Republican critiques of progressive policies or make vague calls for unity that somehow the wealthy and well-connected will stand down, she said, according to prepared remarks.
Ms. Warren also used the speech to highlight the thesis of her economic message, saying, The key question isnt big government versus small government its who government works for. She pitched her plan to upend markets through government regulation as both good politics and policy, a way to build a grass-roots movement of Democrats, Independents and Republicans and produce an economy with more growth, more opportunity and more freedom.

Taking cheap shots at fellow Democrats will tarnish her biggest asset. It is a huge blunder.
Especially in attacking Pete Buttigiege, who many of her voters tend to like and see as part of the Democratic future.
My candidate will gain if it goes this way, but this is an instance where I'd put party over faction.
Eating our own is something we can't afford in 2020.
Keep it on policy. Plenty to debate there without attacking character.

(112,443 posts)Unfortunately, she reminds me of one of my supervisors who did a lot of project management because we had software that wasn't Y2K compliant. There was too much planning and not enough producing. That supervisor want me to collaborate with another employee to develop some software and spent weeks drawing out the time line. All of her plans went into the trash when the other employee resigned. I cleared my desk and rewrote the application in about six weeks. I sent some status reports periodically, but the task was competed much faster and it was less expensive than what she proposed.

There was a post here that many Democrats want Hillary to run.. I think that his means that most Democrats, and voters, want a moderate who would start by steadying our ship of state.
