There was a time in this country where that statement could have been true, but that is in the distant past compared to where we are now. The pendulum is swinging back to the left, and that is where it needs to go in order to right the wrongs of the past few decades.

The gop has become a party of nihilists. I would like to see all of them voted out of office. And any structural advantages the GOP has created for itself need to be swept away.

Biden seems naive here. It may be a political calculation to try to gin up republican votes. But I think it could have the opposite effect of lulling moderates to sleep.
