Economic numbers are good but obviously Economic angst and income inequality is growing. In Nashville, there are so many job openings that stores are closing early because they can't staff up. I dont think these economic numbers will help Trump as it has traditionally helped candidates but it won't hurt. Let's be real- those of us on here are hyper political. The vast majority of Americans don't follow politics, go to work, take thier kids to sports, events ect and never watch the cable news stories that we opine about. They don't know the players in the impeachment probes and most dont know who represents them in Congress. If the average family has adults who are working, have gotten a pay raise and see thier 401k is up- everything else going on in the political world we are obsessed with may be a moot point. So, no matter how much these people may be struggling, many may be less apt to change course in 2020. We have to continually provide a different narrative. Bill Clinton was not personally liked but won after being impeached. We can't downplay a 3.5% unemployment rate. People may be struggling but they are working- maybe two jobs but that security in itself is a plus for an incumbent. Keep educating and fighting !

6. The economy is shit for most people. They are either broke or in debt up to their ears.

2. You can't be more right. Don't forget the people that

benifited from Trump’s tax cut including wealthy of both
political parties. The Bernie blackout is not only because some think he can’t win but more so because they don’t want him to win. There is a tremendous number of people that are hurting , suffering , and dying because they can’t afford to use the health insurance they are forced to pay for. Forget college for thousands or the prospect of insurmountable college debt for others.

5. I think there is a divide to point out...

The question should be, for whom is the economy booming? It seems that the idea of "booming" gets a lot of airplay while, at the same time, it is obvious that a significant number of people in this country are either just getting by or are in the process of falling deeply into poverty.

If we don't make it clear that the boom is more exclusive than it appears, then that generalization will be detrimental to how we move ahead and beneficial to those who are well off and continue into an oligarchy with dystopian implications.

Also, Trump is basically in the process of declaring war on the poor now. That could use more emphasis because it can be something to rally around and underscore as we move forward.

7. And many of those folks won't vote. Hell, some likely don't even know there's an election next year.

Anyway, the focus must be on turnout of the base, particularly POC, white suburban women and youth. If turnout is more like it was in 2008 than 2016, then we will overcome shenanigans and win easily.

8. Trump is going to trumpet the economy, twist that conversation to wages

Wages aren't going up for many, the current boom is going to executives and shareholders.

Make it about wages, specifically about profits and fairness. We should have mandatory profit sharing.
