Merle Gorman, the 83-yr-old Iowan who confronted Biden, now says Joe has a wet noodle for a backbone

More info on him. This is from the NY Post. He was apparently quite happy to brag to them about how he felt he was educating the other voters at that event.

https://nypost.com/2019/12/05/man-who-clashed-with-biden-at-iowa-campaign-event-glad-it-happened/

The Iowa man who challenged Joe Biden during a campaign event on Thursday told The Post he had no regrets about the heated exchange.

“I’m positive 90% of the people there didn’t know about his son working on the board in Ukraine. I wanted it brought out there,” said 83-year-old Merle Gorman, referring to Biden’s son Hunter’s job at a Ukrainian gas company.

“If it educated them a little bit, so be it,” Gorman said. “I’m glad it happened.”

-snip-

Gorman said: “The exchange speaks for itself. He didn’t have the guts to explain the situation, and that’s what I wanted.”

“He got pissed off and stomped around … he wasn’t happy at all,” Gorman continued. “He started mumbling, saying it wasn’t true.”

“After today, he told me what he’s made out of … he’s got a wet noodle for a backbone.”

Gorman, who said he is a Marine Corps veteran and retired farmer, went to the event because it was taking place a couple of blocks from his home, and was spurred to ask about Hunter’s Ukraine dealings after hearing the other questions from the crowd.

“All the others were softballs questions, they might as well have been asking him what color the chandelier was in the vice president’s office,” Gorman said.

-snip-

“I told him, ‘You’re damn near as old as I am’ and I know for a fact my mental faculties have slipped since I hit the 70s,” Gorman said.

-snip-

I'd say it's obvious that Gorman's mental faculties have slipped, and I have doubts about how great they were to start with, if he was dumb enough to think other voters going to a campaign event for Biden wouldn't have heard about the Ukraine smears.

Gorman's a self-righteous, stupid jerk.

And NOT a Democrat.

He told the Post he voted for Obama.

I don't believe it.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

He went there to disrupt the event and grab headlines. It started with "Joe lost his temper" to "Joe called him fat, lazy, and stupid" (seriously, this is the charge that even people like Seth Abramson are going with). I expect the distortion from Trumpers, but it's very disheartening to see Democrats who just don't prefer Biden in the first place to jump on this bandwagon. It's fine to not like Biden's style in how he dealt with this, but he's used the pushups/IQ test quip in the past as well when people question his age. To act like he said "Look, fat" (????) just doesn't make sense. My BS meter went off when this person said that he "heard it on MSNBC". There is a large segment of Democrats who are ready for politicians to call a lie a lie.
