Bloomberg releases charitable donations showing fight against tobacco

Politico

Michael Bloomberg’s charitable foundation spent more than $100 million to combat smoking in 2018, as national attention has shifted to the dangers of vaping electronic cigarettes, according to a recent tax filing.

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, which has funded an anti-vaping effort in New York City, received three grants totaling $25.9 million, the 2018 tax form shows.

The issue could be a political win for the former New York City mayor, who is preparing to launch a bid for the Democratic nomination for president: He has long invested his personal fortune to fight tobacco use, while President Trump is backing off his promised ban on flavored e-cigarettes.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week confirmed 47 fatalities across 25 states and 2,290 illnesses associated with vaping.

The complaint was filed against a specific individual at Bloomberg Corp. and the corporation itself, but evidence was presented that he had any responsibility for the actions alleged.

Our next President will be leader of the party, as well of the nation. We don't need seasonal 'Democrats' of any hue.

13. Bloomberg has been a Democrat in his life longer than two of the other candidates, maybe more.

He was a lifetime Democrat prior to ~ 2000. He switched to the republican party prior to running for Mayor in NYC because he would have been more likely to be elected at that time than if he was a Democrat.

He's was a republican for only 15-16 years, otherwise a Democrat. At least he isn't dropping into the Democratic Party for a few months or a year and then going back to be something else.

I won't vote for him, but he IS a Democrat and has been a better Democrat that some others.

I want to thank President Bush for supporting New York City and changing the homeland security funding formula and for leading the global war on terrorism.

The president deserves our support.

We are here to support him.

And I am here to support him
.

a list (and proof being that he has lied in the past) of rump's contributions?

After all, his so called foundation was a scam and a piggy bank for rump.

Bloomberg is heads and shoulders above the likes of rump. Easily.

No one could disagree but that's not a very high bar. Bloomberg is representing Wall Street, not the party. Makes no difference that he now has a D after his name. Even Trump periodically called himself a Democrat.
