"If you can't admire Joe Biden as a person there's probablyyou got a problem and you need to do some self-evaluation because what's not to like?" a choked-up Graham says during the video, filmed by HuffPo back in 2016 and now shared again on Twitter thousands of times.
Graham then talks about Biden's loss of his son, Beau Biden, to brain cancer. "I called him after Beau died and he basically said, well, Beau was my soul. We talked for a long time," Graham says.
"He came to my ceremony and said some of the most incredibly heartfelt things that anybody could ever say to me. And he's the nicest person I think I've ever met in politics. He is as good a man as God ever created.

As chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Graham on Thursday wrote a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo requesting documents related to Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and other Obama administration officials and the former Ukranian President Petro Poroshenko.

Graham is pursuing the dubious allegation that while in office Biden pressured Ukraine to fire its Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin to disrupt a corruption investigation into Burisma while his son was on the board.

I posted that tweet in General Discussion last night, since I'd already seen people posting there about Graham's opening this investigation.
Unfortunately, that thread was locked there, but not before it had several replies and 20 recs.

(8,144 posts)severely compromised by kompromat or lust for power, perhaps both. He will go down in history as a traitor to friendship and to country. In that way, he will not be forgotten.

(90,829 posts)...soul, and
2. For anyone who has not yet figured this out, Joe Biden is running a General Election campaign, and has been from Day One. He's the only one who is always and explicitly against Trump and Trumpism, and is appealing to not just a slice of Democrats, but to anyone out there who is sick of where Trump has led this country.
Joe Biden remains an optimist -- I sincerely doubt he is naive.

(22,171 posts)around the block so to speak, and certainly can take care of himself, as he's proved many times. I still admire the one time he wiped up Paul Ryan in the one on one debate w/ him. Biden took control of the whole thing and ran with it, leaving Ryan seemingly gasping for air.

(90,829 posts)That because Lindsey Graham turned into a spineless yet poisounous worm, that Joe is too?
Because, you know, Joe Biden's been out of the Senate for awhile, and ever since John McCain died Lindsey's been on a long downhill slide. While Joe Biden's reputation remains as good as it's ever been-- which is sterling.
Don't be too cute.
